Laurie's Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
I always add cream of mushroom soup to the meat and onions . I've never heard if adding corn or using a pie shell but then again I am in the South so may be the difference. The cream of mushroom makes it so good and rich. I then top the mashed potatoes with garlic and shredded sharp cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon. Yum !

Coconut Ambrosia Salad

Reviewed: May 22, 2009
When I make this I add sliced bananas and a can of drained fruit cocktail , omit the marshmallows and use a little less whipped cream. My stepdad always puts apples in his and it is outstanding. Our whole family loves it , even the kids . Its sort of like a fruit salad and dessert in one and you cant beat that !

Chocolate Chess Pie II

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2008
I have been making this pie for 15 years but my recipe calls for 1/8 teaspoon of salt. The SECRET for this pie is to cook it at 325 degrees for 1 hour and I use metal pie crust protector . I put it on the pie after 45 minutes to keep my crust from burning. This pie is so smooth and so decadent. it is my fave and you cannot have it without a big scoop of whip cream/cool whip. YUMMY !!!

Southern Cornbread Dressing

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2007
Outstanding southern dressing. I ALWAYS cook my cornbread in an iron skillet . It just gives that something extra. I added chicken bouillon granules to my cornbread mix before baking and left off the bread as my family doesnt like pasty dressing. I made a gravy out of the broth , flour , oil and cream of chicken soup and we ate this for 3 days !! YUM ! best dressing ever .

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2007
I used chocolate almond bark instead of semi sweet chcocolate and drizzled some white chocolate almond bark over the dipped oreo balls. For Valentines Day we always use the white almond bark and tint it pink and use for dipping . There are never any left .

Okay this recipe is close to the recipe the waitress gave me at O'Charleys restaurant but you use 2 cans cond. milk and only boil for 2 hours , you then cover with whipped topping and mini chocolate chips and pecan pieces. It is DIVINE !!!!!!!

Hello Dollies I

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2009
Wow , I made this 3 times now in the last 2 weeks. They are just scrumptious . Even people who dont like coconut are swooning over these. I made them in the 9x9 instead the last 2 times because the graham layer was paper thin in the 13x9. I reccomend you double the graham crackers , butter and sugar if making in a 13x9 pan . Other than that ......heaven , pure heaven !
