Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2004
Terrific starter recipe! Never thought of using foil. I left out the salt and added some basil & oregano. My guests loved it! I loved it! So simple and easy.

Red Potato Salad with Sour Cream and Chives

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2004
Added dill, a tbsp or so of red wine vinegar and substituted garlic salt for regular. A great healthier recipe for potato salad! Everyone liked it!

Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2004
My friends and I are HUGE blue cheese fans. This dressing rocked! Even using low fat ingredients. The wings were okay. Didn't turn out very spicy, even with a whole bottle of habanero sauce. Still, flavor and texture were terrific, especially with the dressing!!!

Potato Salad I

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2004
Great recipe! We don't like celery or sweet pickles, so I used dill pickle relish and dill weed instead. Also added sliced black olives and green onions. Disappeared right quick, it did!

Taco Bake I

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2007
Great! Made an 8x8 instead of the 9x13. Only one change: added 3 tortillas, bottom, middle and top, serving like a lasagna. Used a little less salsa and seasonings because my new husband is a spice feather-weight. He ate the whole thing (minus my piece) during our day off together. Top-notch and soooo easy!!

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2007
I cook for a bunch of men. 'Manly' men. So, naturally, I put a bottle of beer (usually a lager) in with the roast instead of broth before the bbq sauce and just cooked longer to reduce to good thickness. Also, I always use a cheaper cut, like other reviewers. Turns out perfect every time!! This is great on it's own or as a starter recipe. Thank you for the post.

Four-Bean Taco Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2007
UBER EASY. Used the slow cooker. Subbed ground turkey for the ground beef. Added 1/2 small onion, roughly chopped. Extra tomato sauce. No butter beans, just doubled up on the black beans. Yum. Definitely Yum. This is going to be a regular this winter.

Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2007
Oh-my-chewy-chocolatey-goodness!!! These cookies were delicious! Followed recipe precisely - except to add 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. That's it. They turned out fluffy (a little over 1/2 inch in height), very soft, perfectly golden brown, very light.. not heavy at all, which is the way we like them. I think I put in more chocolate chips than called for... I just dumped the last of the bag in. Husband loves them. Says throw the other recipes away.

Banana Berry Smoothie III

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2008
Tart. Yum. Used plain yogurt and fresh squeezed (no sugar) oj to make it even more tart. Great deviation from the same old sweet and fruity smoothie. Also, was baking the Lemon Raspberry muffins found on this site at the same time, so added a twist or two of lemon juice to my smoothie. Love it.

This is just exquisite. We love it! Melt in your mouth goodness. Rolled mine in confectioner's sugar before baking as small balls. Very very good. Eating my third right now.

Apple Strudel Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2008
The changes make this a five-star muffin. Sub 1/2 the white sugar for brown. Mix with shredded and diced apples first to soak while you prepare the rest. Add nutmeg and cinnamon and about 1/2 to 3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce. I used two golden delicious apples, about the size of a baseball, and was able to completely omit the vanilla. Moist, fluffy, sweet. Yum.
