I've always done some of the cooking, but started doing all of it two years ago after my wife had back surgery, which made it almost impossible for her to stand up for more than a few minutes at a time. She's better now, but I still do most of the cooking. Having retired in 2000, I have the time for it. If it tastes good, and isn't incredibly difficult and time consuming, I'm game. Sometimes, even time-consuming is OK, as in the case of barbecue. Veal Picata is my wife's favorite dish, but I clipped a Chicken Picata recipe from the Atlanta Journal-Consitution that she likes even better.
