One Bowl Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2010
This cake is really easy to make and it tastes good. It was moist, but like others said the edges were a bit dry. The flavor was rich and chocolatey, but I would suggest reducing the salt to 1/2 tsp and increasing vanilla extract to 2 tsp. Will make it again, but try using 2 small bundt cake pans instead. Thanks

Hershey's ® 'Perfectly Chocolate' Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2010
I made 2 bundt cakes and it was really simple to make. The cakes turned out to be rich, moist and chocolately. I would suggest adding another teaspoon of vanilla extract and dissolved coffee granules for a deeper, intenser flavor. I'm surprised it tasted so good without any butter. I'll be making this recipe again. Thanks.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2009
The carrot cake turned out quite well. I made some modifications such as: reducing the oil to 3/4 cup and adding 1/4 cup yogurt. The cake was really moist. I also used 1 cup of white sugar and 1 cup of brown sugar, which is just enough sweetness. I would add 1/4 tsp nutmeg for a spicier & more improved flavor because I found that even though I added 3 tsp of vanilla extract and 3 tsp of ground cinnamon, it still seemed like something was missing. I omitted the nuts too. I'd make this cake again. Btw, this recipe was enough to make 2 small bundt cakes.

Shortbread Cookies III

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
I'm an avid baker and these cookies were hard, pasty and the butter flavor was overbearing. The texture and flavor were not what a traditional shortbread cookie should be. They should melt in your mouth, definitely not the result desired. Disappointed and will try another recipe next time.

Cinnamon Rolls II

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2009
This is first time I've made cinnamon rolls. I followed the recipe to the "T," however, when mixing the dough, I found it to be too wet and sticky. So I ended up adding at least another cup of flour to stop it from sticking to my hands, so that I could actually knead the dough. Overall, the result was great and my family couldn't stop eating them right out of the oven. I also made cream cheese frosting instead, which made the rolls all the more mouthwatering. Thanks.

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2005
I made this recipe tonight for my family and they couldn't get enough!!! I modified the recipe by omitting the white wine and whipping cream, but substituting homemade chicken stock and adding 1/2 and 1/2. After browning, I followed the advice and put it in the oven for 20 mins. at 350 degrees. The chicken was so tender, it just melted in your mouth. I will definitely make this dish again...

Chicken Pot Pie VIII

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2005
This is the first time I have made a chicken pot pie from scratch. This recipe was quite successful. The filling was moist and the chicken was tender(boiled it in chicken stock first). I would definitely make this recipe again. Thanks.

Butter Tart Squares

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2004
I followed the directions given to the T, however, I am disappointed to say that the recipe didn't turn out. The filling didn't set and was definitely too sweet. The shortbread pastry was O.K., but a little underdone. I think I'll stick to the butter tart recipe instead.

Butter Tarts

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2004
This is the first time I've made butter tarts. I am pleasantly surprised how well they look and taste. Also, their simplicity is a bonus. Thank you so much. I will certainly make them again for my family and friends to enjoy!
