Blonde Brownies I

Fantastic recipe. I did put in 1/2 the baking powder it calls for based on other reviews, and I omitted the nuts and chocolate chips due to diet constrictions and it was still absolutely wonderful.

Spinach Deviled Eggs

These were a HUGE hit at a holiday potluck. I made some slight revisions - I used rice (sushi) vinegar and omited the sugar, to give it the same tart/sweet taste. Also, i have a wreath-shaped egg platter, and every other egg I put in a spoonful of the mixture without the spinach, and sprinkled the "plain" ones with paprika. It was a lovely red/green wreath holiday presentation, and a delicious one at that. Thanks!!

Peanut Noodles

This recipe is -great- as is, but with the following alterations, I think it's perfect. Use light soy sauce instead of regular (much less salty), and scramble 2 eggs along with the scallions. In addition, use rice noodles instead of spaghetti. Also, crunchy peanut butter (instead of smooth) gives it a nice texture. Garnish with either a few tablespoons of crushed peanuts, cilantro or sesame seeds.

Banana Banana Bread

I can't believe how great this recipe is. I followed other suggestions and used more sugar (1 cup instead of 3/4). I also added a bit of vanilla and a sprinkle of cinnamon and it was fantastic. The only thing I'd do different next time is cook it for an hour, instead of 65 mins, as the edge was a bit too dark for my preference. Otherwise, perfect!!

German Pancake with Buttermilk Sauce

WOW! I made a few alterations to this recipe (due to lack of ingredients), and it came out amazing. For the sauce (which tastes more like caramel than anything) I used margarine instead of butter, 1% milk instead of buttermilk, and maple syrup instead of corn syrup. The pancakes (which taste just like crepes), I cut into 12 squares, put one slice on four plates, added a layer of fresh sliced strawberries, another slice, then another layer of strawberries, topped it with another slice, and drizzled on the sauce. I wish I made two batches, our party of four was begging for more!! Beautiful appearance, easy to make, and absolutely delicious. Will make again and again :)

Strawberry Upside Down Cake

With some slight alterations, this recipe is delicious and SO easy to make. I put a layer of mini marshmallows (1 package), poured on yellow cake mix, arranged sliced fresh strawberries (1 lb), then poured on strawberry jello, baked for 1/2 hour, chilled it for a few hours, served it with whipped cream, and it came out -perfect-. I don't think it serves "24 people". A party of 6 gobbled it up real quick. Will definitely make again :)
