About this Cook
I have been cooking since I was seven years old. I love to cook. My specialty is "stuff;" that's what my husband and son started calling meals that I didn't have names for. Because of a very wanting budget, this is what we ate many times. It was good practice for the catering business that I later started.
My favorite things to cook
I guess I'd have to say desserts. I became a cake artist, and many people love my cakes. Some recipes I have made up myself--such as one called Oklahoma Golden Nugget.
My cooking triumphs
A sit-down affair for the Tulsa Police Department. There were three hundred people that the room had to be setup for, cooked for, served, etc. Rave reviews.
My cooking tragedies
The same police function. I hired about thirty people to prepare and serve. Some--only some--were experienced people from Tulsa University--including their boss that pitched in as well. The boss wore a shirt with the TU logo on it, so the police representative that hired me thought that all I had done was cook, and that "TU" had done everything else. He would not listen when I tried to explain. I never got called by them again. I'm sure TU did. Sometimes 'friends' can be treacherous. Oh, well...lesson learned.

Miracle Baking Powder Pie Crust
I couldn't have been more please with a pie crust. It was good for my cream pies, and the peach cobbler I made for friends. You may need to use more water. Flour/water mixture should be Smooth. Simply Wonderful!

Clone of a Cinnabon
These cinnamon rolls were so good. I don't have a bread machine, so I substituted an 8 gram pack of dry active yeast for the bread machine yeast. Then kneaded the dough by hand. The first time I made them, the dough tasted wonderful, but the rolls were too dense. So, the second time I made them I decided to let the dough rise twice--once in the bowl, and after punching it down, rolling out and assembling the rolls, I let it/them rise again. Because I like lots of filling, I increased the butter and sugar that I spread on the sheet of rolled out dough. If you do this, be careful not to put in too much, so that filling doesn't end up sticking to the bottom of the pan. These were some of the best cinnamon rolls that I have ever eaten. For Real!

Microwave Apple Crisp
I didn't have enough apples, so dropped in a few frozen raspberries. Was very good. I missed the richer caramelization that oven cooking would have made. Otherwise, it was great.
