I am here!
I'm still cooking, though lately the mood has been on and off, so many dinners have consisted of frozen pizza, grilled cheese, or scrambled eggs. In between my cooking lulls, I've managed to put together a few delicious, noteworthy (or at least photo-worthy)
Here in Seattle, we have just survived a gigantic snowstorm...well, gigantic for us, that is. I seriously missed 3 days of work and I live one mile away from the office atop a steep, slippery hill. The idea of sliding around on a glare of ice didn't appeal
to me, so I stayed home.
You'd think that three days inside would result in numerous cooking adventures and experiments, but sadly, it did not. I managed one batch of cookies, a grilled cheese sandwich, some home fried potatoes and eggs, and a frozen pizza. Sad, really.
However I just ventured out on clear sidewalks to the nearby food co-op and came home with a filet mignon for dinner tonight, some ground beef, and a half turkey breast that will be brined and roasted tomorrow. Since it weighs less than 3 pounds, brining
overnight would be too much, so I'll tackle that in the morning.
Since it's not spring yet, I look forward to cooking many more comfort food dishes....
