One Minute Chocolate Icing

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2008
Like other users, I too found this to be a fudge like consistancy. I was able to frost a round layer cake but only because the cake was ready before the frosting. I added one unsweetened chocolate square and used 2/3 cup white and 1/3 cup brown sugar instead of the cocoa. Thanks for sharing!

Kentucky Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2008
These turned out great! The only substitution I made was replacing the butter with margarine.I only kneaded for about 12-15 turns and they turned out so light and fluffy! Amazing! Thanks a bunch for sharing!!

Chewy Caramel

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2007
I can't say enough about these caramels! They are fantastic!! The scaling is off on the recipe though--it makes much more than 32 servings. I am able to get about 200 bit size candies out of it. I individually wrap them in wax paper and give them as Christmas gifts. Everyone raves about them. Also, I subsitute the sweetened milk for evaporated milk. It's not a small project by any means. It takes close to an hour for the caramel to reach the proper temperature and another 1 or so to wrap them. The end product is well worth the time! Thanks a bunch!!

Cheddar and Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2007
This is so yummy! I always double the recipe because it tastes better and better the longer it sits in the fridge! I also add chunked ham black olives. Thanks so much for sharing!

Whipped Cream

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2006
So simple and easy to make. Be sure to use a metal bowl. I usually place mine (with the wisk) in the freezer for five or ten minutes before making the cream. Delicious! You'll never buy ready made again!

Granny's Ice Cream

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2006
I am amazed as to how yummy this turns out. It's somewhat healthier version of ice cream bought in the store. I feel much better about serving this to my kids. Our favorite is strawberry-fresh strawberries make this oh so good! Make sure to stir it frequently or you'll get ice milk instead of ice cream! Thanks so much for sharing.

Baked French Toast

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2006
Overall a great recipe. It's even better as leftovers. Make sure to cook it through or it gets really soggy. Also, if you leave your bread uncovered for a day, it will be stale and make for a less soggy outcome. The sauce is devine! Thanks for sharing.

Toasted Party Mix

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2006
I'm not sure what happened with these but they didn't turn out all that well. The butter had an overwhelming greasy taste. I served them at my husbands poker game and they weren't a very big hit. I'm going to give them another try as it's probably something I did wrong.

Cucumber Dip II

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2006
This is unbelievable!! It's so simple and so tasty. I served it with toastitos and triscuits. Make sure to let it sit as long as possible as it's better the longer it sits. Make it this night before just to make sure it has enough time in the fridge. Also, I periodically placed it back in the fridge from time to time just to keep it cold. Thanks so much for sharing. I'll be making this again and again and again!

Pizza Dough II

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2006
I can not say enough about this recipe. It is spectacular! The wheat flour makes the dough nice and chewey! It makes enough for about three pizzas. It freezes very well so if it makes to much, you can save some for a later time. I make one pizza and use the rest for a fried dough desert. In a pan over medium heat, melt a bit of butter, and a piece of stretched out dough. Cover and cook until the dough is cooked through. Add sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg to the warm dough for a tasty sweet treat! Delicious!

Sweet and Sour Drumettes

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2006
I'm not sure where I went wrong but the breading turned out very soggy. I'm not a big fan of frying so next time i'm going to skip the breading altogether and just marinade and bake the chicken in the sauce. My husband loved this and even my picky kids weren't so picky at dinner time. Thanks for sharing.

Hearty Turkey Soup with Parsley Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2006
This is very good... you must make sure to skim off as much fat as possible or else the soup will turn out extremely greasy. The dumplings were great. I added cornmeal and cooked them for ten minutes covered and then ten minutes uncovered. I substitued the cube of chicken bouillon with a can of chicken broth. Overall a very yummy soup. I'll use this recipe for every leftover turkey! Thanks for sharing.

Banana Pudding I

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2006
This is delicious. I used the vanilla wafer recipe from this site instead of the boxed cookies. I poured the pudding into four wine glasses and stuck the vanilla wafters into the pudding instead of using the baking dish. This was the kids got their own "fancy" pudding and they were thrilled. Very yummy. Thanks for sharing.

this recipe makes a mean lasagna! i added sliced zucchini, fresh mushrooms and used 4 cups shredded mozz. i didn't have fresh parsley so i substituted with 3 1/2 tablespoons dried. it turned out so yummy! it's time consuming but the end result is well worth the effort. i will be making this again, and again, and again!! thanks for sharing...
