About this Cook
I'm a 32-year-old English Instructor currently living in Montreal, Quebec with my two children, Tyler, 9 and Raine, 4, a husband of 5 years, Frank and a 2-year-old kitty named Kitty.
My favorite things to cook
Dinner is my favorite. I love when the whole family can be together, enjoying each other's company and sharing a wonderful meal.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My father spent much of his life as a chef for a private college in Vermont but suprisingly spent very little time in the kitchen at home. My mother is a terrible cook so our family cooking traditions are null, until now of course. My husband's family is large and traditionally Italian. Family parties are many and there is always amazing food to accompany each occasion.
My cooking triumphs
My biggest challenge was preparing food for the guests at my daughter's third birthday party. There were a total of 19 people and yes, I pulled it off and even managed to throw together a strawberry surprise cake from scratch and the ice cream to accompany it.
My cooking tragedies
I've had many of these. Too many to list really. I think the worse one would have to be the time my casserole dish exploded in the oven leaving its contents all over the place. The most disturbing part was not being able to eat because any food that might have been salvaged were tainted with shards of ceramic!!

Truck-Stop Buttermilk Pancakes
These are fantastic! For the first time in history my family ate pancakes w/out syrup! Thanks a ton...

One Minute Chocolate Icing
Like other users, I too found this to be a fudge like consistancy. I was able to frost a round layer cake but only because the cake was ready before the frosting. I added one unsweetened chocolate square and used 2/3 cup white and 1/3 cup brown sugar instead of the cocoa. Thanks for sharing!

Kentucky Biscuits
These turned out great! The only substitution I made was replacing the butter with margarine.I only kneaded for about 12-15 turns and they turned out so light and fluffy! Amazing! Thanks a bunch for sharing!!
