Chef John's Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2013
I rarely review BUT this soup is excellent and needs to be shared as the go to recipe for Potato/Ham soup. It was tasty the first night but just OUTSTANDING the next day. It is perfect for post holiday ham and I followed the recipe fairly close and you can just tweek to your family's likes. Can't go wrong, easy too!

Chili Rubbed Pork Tenderloin With Apricot Ginger Glaze

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2010
I rarely review but this was a big hit. My one son is not a pork eater but asked for me to make this again very soon. My other son only likes his food "plain" but raved over the taste. Followed the recipe to a "T" and it was simple and excellent. Served with grilled sweet potatoes and melon...nice summer meal.

Overnight Cinnamon Rolls I

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
Ok, I rarely post reviews but these rolls are excellent. I made them up the night before Easter and was sure they would flop. Took them out before church and did pop them in a warm oven for a few. They baked up amazingly good. I kept to the recipe with the exception of some butter on the dough to make the sugar mix stick and lowered the temp to 350. I did not proof the yeast and it worked perfectly. Thanks for the perfect end to Easter brunch!

Perfect Sesame Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2010
I have to say I rate very few recipes but this came out so bland after so much work i had to warn folks away. Maybe if I had poured over reviews and modified something would be better but as is it is BLAND.

Golden Knots

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2009
Every Easter I attempt to make an exceptional yeast roll. I have come close but ususally I am disappointed in the final result. This year I finally nailed it and will do away with all other recipes. I followed this to a "T" and gave plenty of rise time. Just excellent.

Cinnamon Coffee Cake II

Next time I'll find another recipe or make MAJOR adjustments. Oily, unappealing texture.

Avocado Feta Salsa

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2008
This is the first review I have written even though I have used many, many recipes. This is an excellent salsa dip and is so easily adaptable to your own taste. I served it the first night with tortilla chips (pita toasted would be good too) and would use "scoops" next time. The next day I grilled up chicken (pounded thin), put it on toasted cibatta rolls halved, and topped with the salsa. My family raved and this is very unusual. Great summer meal. Thanks for the recipe!
