About this Cook
I'm a first time mom at 39 as well as a 3-piece-suit professional. I'm lucky enough to have a guy who doesn't mind role reversal and he stay at home with our son. Cooking is my relaxation outlet and my area where I can be creative.

My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmother taught me to cook with ingredients... not out of a box. 99% of my meals are all homemade. I only cheat when it comes to a Pasta Roni type side.
My cooking triumphs
Amazing birthday cakes for my former step-kids. My son will be 1 in a month and a half... now it will be a yearly thing for the next 18 years at least! I made a double layer FULL SHEET cake to look like a Playstation with additional cakes to look like controllers with licorice strings and more cake to look like cd's. I made a guitar, flying saucers, muddin' truck. a 4-wheeler... Too many to count!
My cooking tragedies
A few... Beer chicken - someone else added an additonal can of beer before I got home from work beacuse he thought it looked dry and it was HORRID! Balsamic Salmon... UGH!

Lamb Chops with Balsamic Reduction
Perfect! Just make a little more sauce and pair this with cous cous - drizzle balsamic sauce over it - YUM! My little picky eater friend asks me to make this a couple of times a year for her!

Clams Kokkinisto
Similar to Manhatten Clam Chowder but thicker. I made this for my little brother and his "Muddin' Redneck Buddies." I paired this with a Tuscan dipping sauce and a good crusty french bread that ripped apart. They all looked at me like I'd plopped them into a 5-star restaurant! They were cautious on the first bite - but before long I realized that not an ounce was left over! I really didn't divert from the recipe except by adding some additional italian herbs and hot sauce! PS. Now they are always asking my little brother when I'm cooking for them again!
