Simple But Awesome Lemon Pepper Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2004
After reading the reviews on this recipe, I had made several changes to it. I added garlic powder, seasoned salt, and a dash of cayenne to the chops. I also cut the oil and butter down to HALF. After all was said and done...they were just ok. I don't think I would make them again..I just don't do bland. For anyone looking for a tip.....maybe try pan searing them first to get a good flavor on the outside. Just a thought!!

Maple Roast Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2004
This turkey was just wonderful. It was so moist and the flavor couldn't have been better. The whole family enjoyed it. I didn't use the leftover butter for gravy. Instead, I used all the butter on the bird and made my own gravy from what was in the pan. I wasn't sure that the sweet gravy would go well with mashed potatoes and stuffing. I will make this again next year, but I think I will inject the butter into the turkey prior to cooking. Thank you so much!!

Cinnamon and Lime Chicken Fajitas

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2004
All I can say is WOW!! The fusion of the cinnamon and the lime was wonderful. I did add a little more jalepeno than the recipe called, but otherwise, I wouldn't change a thing. I also made Dee's Mexican Rice with this dish. It complimented it well. I will definitely make this again and again.

Dee's Mexican Rice

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2004
This was was great. I made the recipe without the coriander seed....I didn't have any. I used some fresh cilantro at the end. Instead of using the fresh tomatoes and the ketchup, I used a can of Ro-Tel tomatoes. It worked nicely. Surely a keeper!!

Cracker Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2004
These pork chops were a hit with my whole family. They were a welcomed change form our traditional bread crumbs. I didn't do the water part and they still came out fantastic. I rubbed thm with some garlic, salt and pepper prior to coating. I also used Ritz because I didn't have any saltines. They were moist, buttery, and surely a make-again!! Thank you!

Soundview Crab Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2004
This recipe was just ok for me. I used fresh crabmeat and it just seemed dry. I tried adding more mayo and sour cream, but then it took away from the flavors. If I made it again, I would definitely have to play with the ingredients a little.

Grilled Brown Sugar Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2005
These pork chops came off the grill tender and juicy! As I read in another review, I used Jack Daniel's in my sauce. I only used 1T. oil and I used 2T. Jack. It added excellent flavor! Thanks!

Easy Beef Strogonoff

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2005
This was really good. Instead of the bullion cubes, I added a can of beef broth and a can of cream of mushroom soup. A splash of worcestershire sauce and about a quarter cup of red wine. I was worried about the "dryness factor" I had read about in the reviews. It made a really nice creamy sauce and was great over the noodles. My kids even ate this----That tells me it was good for sure. Thanks!

Cheesy Beef and Bean Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2005
YUM YUM YUM!!! I have so many good things to say I don't know where to start. The only thing I did different was to saute the onion with my ground beef and I added garlic powder and a lot of Lawry's seasoned pepper. It was just great! My 3 children are the true judges and they cleaned their plates. It's not often I can get them to eat a "mixed-up" dish!! What I liked best was that I had all the ingredients on hand. Super easy and super good!!

Arti-Cheesy Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2005
This was extremely good. I loved the richness of the sauce. I am not sure why so many people don't use the artichokes. I am not an artichoke lover, I don't like the texture. I used them for the flavor and just simply pushed them aside on my plate. They add something wonderful to the dish. This would be an excellent dish to "wow" your company with!!

House Fried Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2005
This was a pretty good dish. I added the egg AFTER I mixed the rice in. Also, after I added the soy, I let the rice fry for about 5 minutes. Gave it that "authenticity" I was looking for. I found that long grain rice works fine, but short to medium grain is more restaurant-style. I will make this again. Thanks!!

Best Fried Green Tomatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2005
Having lived in North Carolina for the last 16 years, I've had these tomatoes in various southern restaurants. This recipe was great in flavor, but I wasn't crazy about the texture. After the first batch, I made some changes and found them to be exactly what I was looking for. The flour made the breading too soft. I reduced the flour by 1/2 cup, which made equal parts flour, cornmeal, and breadcrumbs. This gave the tomatoes the crispness that they needed. Again, the flavor was great! I received many compliments and will continue to use this recipe. Thanks!!

Cabbage Beef Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
I followed this recipe exactly as written and it was wonderful. My kids loved it as well as my husband. I did not find a need to change the recipe for anything. It did not taste like chili to me, and it definitely needed the cumin for the flavor. Great recipe! Thanks for sharing!!!

Tasty Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
This recipe was just ok for me. I am 100% Italian, and the sauce I make is similar to this. Italians do not add ground beef to the sauce, usually pork or Italian sausage. I use two cans of tomato paste, one big(28oz) can of crushed tomatoes and one big (28oz) can of tomato puree. As for the herbs, the measurements were in the ballpark MINUS the rosemary and maybe 2tsp pepper. I eye all of my add-ins, so when I measured these last night, they seemed about right. This sauce was good if you dont have the time to throw meatballs together and have to get the kids fed.
