Slow Cooker Split Pea Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2013
Wow, I love this soup! I followed the recipe, the only change being that I used ham instead of sausage. When it was done I removed the cubed ham, pureed the soup, then added the ham back in. It had a creamy texture and was just right with salt and spices. I agree with the other reviews that this makes a lot of soup. Mine was filled to the brim.

Indian Relish

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2011
Yum! It came out delicious, although it did make the house smell while making it. I did make a few additions: 1) I added chopped kale since I had some leftover that I needed to use up. This added a little nice green specks to it, and 2) I added pineapple chunks and the pineapple juice it came in from leftovers as well. It came out tasty! Boyfriend and guests loved it.

Low-Fat Blueberry Bran Muffins

Reviewed: May 9, 2011
If my boyfriend is any indication, these should get more than five stars. He devoured four of them ten minutes after they came out of the oven. A week later, when I told him I'd make him some more if he'd go to the store to buy me fresh blueberries, he came back with five little packages. When I told him I didn't need that much, he replied, "You can make double batches, can't you???" Uh, ok. Sure. They came out delicious. The blueberries explode in your mouth, so I suggest fresh ones. The second time I made them I used oat bran because my boyfriend couldn't find wheat bran. We preferred those but we wonder if oat bran has less fiber than wheat. We'd want the fiber and they're still delicious with wheat bran.

Easy Chinese Corn Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
I made this for my boyfriend and our two 7yos and they really liked it. Very easy to make. I doubled the recipe and added some leftover spaghetti and made it a meal. I definitely plan to make this a staple for those weeknights I don't have much time to make dinner

Fast and Friendly Meatballs

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2010
Very easy to make and they came out juicy, not dry. It needed a little bit of salt and a little flavor, though, but it is a great base. Next time I'll add some parmesan cheese and garlic.

Pancakes I

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2010
I didn't have enough pancake mix to make breakfast for four people so I found and doubled this recipe. I mixed in three banana that I thawed from the freezer in the microwave, and added a dash of vanilla extract. Delish!

Egg Salad Sandwiches

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2009
Almost as good as my grandma's egg salad sandwich. I cut the mayo to 2/3 cup, added more garlic powder, paprika, dill weed and mustard powder to taste and added cilantro. I also soaked the onion flakes as others mentioned so I could eat it right away.

Tasty Lentil Tacos

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2009
Didn't come out as I expected. Very mushy and not very much taste. Might give it one more try with a lot of variation because I like the idea.

Fresh Asparagus Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2009
Yummy! Took the advice of others and steamed the broccoli first. Didn't come out stringy at all, thanks. Doubled the recipe and it was delicious. Never had asparagus soup and was a bit hesitant but I had a lot of asparagus I needed to use up. Very creamy and tasty.

Glazed Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
Very moist and delicious. My husband asked, "When will you make this again?" after his first bite. I took the advice of others and baked it at a lower temperature for a bit longer.

White Bean Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
Came out wonderful. Better the second day. I didn't have fresh tomatoes so I used a can of crushed tomatoes instead. Also omitted the corn, two cans of beans not really drained, and added zucchini. Didn't blend but still came out thick. Served with salad and fresh bread with butter. Will make this again!

Preety's Chickpea Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
This was a wonderful dish that I've already made a couple times last week. The only change I made was the second time I made it. I found yellow onions too overpowering so the second time I used green onions. It had a much nicer flavor and added a nice bit of color. I also added diced red bell pepper and it was delicious!

Lemon Lentil Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2008
The salad was good but didn't wow me. I used Trader Joe's lentils which kept their firmness well. I added grated carrots and celery per other reviews. I'll probably tweak the recipe to give it better flavor.

Italian Cream Cake I

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2008
Best cake I've ever made, both taste-wise and visual-wise. I made it for a baby shower and got rave reviews, very moist and good. Made is exactly as the recipe but: instead of walnuts I put five gerber daisies in the middle and surrounded the top edge of the cake with blueberries, the bottom with blueberries and raspberries. It went well with the cream cheese frosting. This cake could be decorated differently for various occasions and seasons. This is the only cake I'll make from now on!

Alyson's Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2008
Yum-O! I didn't grow up with broccoli salad, had only had it about twice in my life prior to making this. It was delicious. I made it for a family dinner and a 4th of July party. Each time I was asked for the recipe. This recipe is a keeper!

Stuffed Green Peppers

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2008
My husband asked me to make this again, he loved it. I liked it too but felt there was something missing, it was a bit too bland. I followed other reviewers' suggestions of sauteing onion in olive oil and using taco seasoning since I didn't have chili powder. Maybe I'll add garlic next time. An overall very good recipe that is versatile for what you have on hand. I just have to figure out what would send it into fantastic!

Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2008
The description is dead on. I substituted the shortening for the butter and cooked for 7 minutes. They ended up very chewy. These disappeared very quickly and will be made again very soon! Thx for the recipe!
