About this Cook
I started cooking when I moved out on my own when I was 19. I bought a cookbook from the bookstore and just started picking out different recipes to try. I would cook dinner for me and my roommate, she was my guinea pig. She pretty much liked everything that I made. That's when I came up with ChefboyoBrown. My maiden name is Brown and when I would tell my family and friends what I made, they were impressed and that's why I started calling myself ChefboyoBrown. :) Now I cook and bake for my husband. I really enjoy cooking and trying all different kinds of cuisines. I wish I was a little more creative when it comes to cooking and baking but I add some of my own touches here and there.
My cooking triumphs
1.)My first Christmas Day lunch/dinner in 2003. I made a pork roast with mashed potatoes, gravy, veggies, cresent rolls and a cheesecake (first time). My family loved everything. 2.)My first turkey and ham for a Christmas Party in 2004. I don't know how I fit both of those in the oven but it worked and came out perfectly. I was a little nervous so I had a few too many glasses of wine that night but I totally enjoyed myself and so did our guests.

Cake Balls
I used devil's food cake with whipped vanilla frosting. After I mixed it all together I was able to make the balls. I didn't have any problems maybe because I didn't add the whole container of frosting..just enough to bind it all together..probably about 3/4 of the container. I put one tray in the freezer while I was making more balls and started to melt the chocolate in my double boiler. I used 1 pk of milk chocolate chips, 1 pk of semi-sweet chips. I didn't think I would have enough chocolate so I added dark chocolate mint chips that I had on hand. I would put the whole ball in the chocolate and fish it out with a fork where I would tap it on the side of the pot to get the excessive chocolate off. Then I would use a toothpick to remove the ball from the fork and onto wax paper. It worked perfectly for me. I brought them to a bake sale at work and everyone loved them and was asking for the recipe.

Best Toffee Ever - Super Easy
I thought this was good but my husband loved it. I didn't have a candy thermometer so I had to go by the color description in the recipe. I think if I did have the thermometer it would have come out better. I did half the recipe though cause I thought 2 cups of butter was a lot and I'm glad I did because even making half the recipe there was plenty.

Grilled Gorgonzola-Basil Burgers
My new favorite burgers. I added worchestershire sauce. I also saved 1/4 of the gorgonzola to put on top of the burger once it was finished cooking. I cooked the burgers on our inside grill. Delish!!
