Peanut Butter Chip Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2010
Um, yum. Better than expected. One of the only cookies I've ever made where I actually like the cookie better than the dough. Perfect texture. Mine took 12-15 minutes to bake though, and I got more than 24 cookies out of the recipe.

Braided Egg Bread

Easy to make and pretty good flavor, but a little bit dry. Lovely presentation though.

Heavenly Chocolate Mousse

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
Due to extenuating circumstances, my expectations for this were low - I only had 3 oz. of chocolate so I scaled it back to 2 servings (and it's hard to cook only one egg yolk without it overcooking!) and no mixer, so I whipped the cream by hand until my patience (and arm muscle) wore out - about 15 minutes - at which point it was sort of like a stiff soup. I mixed it all up anyway, and it was AMAZING. Despite all my efforts to ruin it the texture and flavor were perfect - exactly what I want (but never get) when I order mousse in a restaurant. Stick to the proportions and instructions exactly - this will be great!

Greek Chicken Burgers with Feta

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2009
Very yummy, moist, burgers. Made them with ground beef on the stove top (wintertime) and they stayed together better than most homemade burgers I've tried. I've given them a four only because the flavor, while good, wasn't especially strong or Greek. Next time I think I'll try adding more feta and tomatoes. I also used 2 eggs because the mixture looked a little dry at first. Great burger find!

Curried Coconut Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
This is a tasty and very simple curry recipe. I omit the tomato sauce, because I find that with it the tomato flavor is too overpowering, and just use the can of diced tomatoes. Be generous with the curry powder, it really adds so much flavor! Also, be sure to add the wet ingredients just before the chicken is cooked - if you let the chicken cook through and then simmer it for another 30 minutes, it will be tough.

Autumn Apple Salad II

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
Amazing. My roommates and I gobbled this up. They don't have dried cherries or sliced almonds in Prague, so I used whole almonds and omitted the cherries. Adding honey, lemon, and cinnamon to the yogurt dressing really kicked it up a notch!

Lentils and Rice with Fried Onions (Mujadarrah)

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2009
This is delicious! I had low expectations judging by the ingredients, but the balance of the sweet onions and salty lentils was great. I added a little bit of cinnamon as other reviewers suggested, and liked it. This recipes is so simple and cheap ... I'll definitely have it again!

Dessert Crepes

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
I thought this recipe was just average. The consistency of the batter was good, and the buttery flavor was nice, but I found the crepes way too eggy. I've definitely used better crepe recipes and I don't think I'd try this one again.

Delicious Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
I thought these were just OK. The flavor is good - very peanut buttery, and they are very soft, almost fluffy cookies, but they fall apart extremely easily and just odn't have the moistness/chewiness I want in a peanut butter cookie!

Black Bean and Corn Quesadillas

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2007
very good. the filling was delicious just by itself. once cooked up in the quesadillas though, they were a little dry. next time i think i will use more salsa. also, the type of salsa you use has a big effect on the flavor, so consider that when shopping.

Rich Chocolate Truffle Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2007
delicious!! like other reviewers said, it is very rich -- way more than 8 servings. i also might try using darker chips next time, as it was a tad bit sweet for me. everyone who has tried it has loved it though!

Alfredo Mostaccioli

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2007
this came out way too salty, and i would either cut the salt down to only 1/4tsp., or maybe cut it out all together. other than that, it was delicious -- very light but still filling. i'll definitely make it again.
