Amazing taste. I made a few of these Easter morning last year for my guests and everyone raved. I plan on making it a family tradition. They reheated well too. Even better the second day!

Grandma's Rhubarb Torte

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2006
My mom used to make this all the time. Everyone would always ask for the recipe! She also uses Splenda when preparing for some of our diabetic relatives and it turns out great. I'm going to have to plant rhubarb this year, just so I can make this recipe! Delicious!

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2006
The name says it all. I expected homemade brownies to be much harder to make than the boxed kind, but they were very simple and tasted SO much better. I just couldn't believe how much more I liked these! I'll never go back to store-bought. Thanks!

Fluffy White Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2006
Love this recipe! Awesome on chocolate cake. I used the same principles as when making meringue and I didn't have any problems with getting this to whip up. I really like that it's not as heavy and sugary as buttercream icing. A nice change. Thanks!

Southern Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2011
made this recipe for a large party using 14 lbs of pork tenderloin and pork roast. made it in two batches in a large crock pot adding water to come up 2/3 of the way in the crock pot. added extra liquid smoke after the first batch for personal preference. meat was so tender it fell apart just pressing on it. added some of the juice back into the meat and left the entire batch plugged into a "keep warm" crock pot all day. Just set different flavored sauces around the meat and people made there own sandwiches to how they prefer. Carribean Jerk and Famous Dave's Devil's Spit sauces went over really well with it. Lots of compliments.

Tofuberry Smoothie

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2006
This is a really good base recipe. I changed the fruit to what I had on hand (I substituted peaches and pinapple for the raspberries, added extra banana) and it turned out really tasty. I'll be trying with other fruits too when they come into season. Also, I didn't serve it over ice or ice cream. I just stuck it in the freezer for about a half hour to an hour and stirred. It wasn't too sugary sweet, and had a good drinkable texture. The kids really enjoyed this "dessert". :D

Chili-Lime Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2006
Very good! I would double the recipe for the marinade though. I cut up the chicken breasts and marinated them for about 2 hours, then added some onions and green pepper and marinated for another hour. I cooked them in my oven using the broiler and broiler pan, just spread them out all over the pan and turned them over every once in awhile. They came out tender and tasty. My kids enjoyed them a lot, my husband added some red hot for a little extra spice.

Mini Eggplant Pizzettes

I really like these. I found a pizza sauce that was lower in carbs than most spaghetti sauces and used that. This was really fun to make and my whole family enjoyed them.

Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies I

I used unsalted butter since I didn't have margarine. They were amazing. I made a double batch for my husband's work and they were all gone by the end of the morning. Yum!

Caramel Crunch Apple Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2006
Very tasty! I was looking for something like Perkins Restaurant serves and this was it. My apples were pretty juicy, so I had to drain the pie after baking, but before adding the carmel and topping. :) Also, instead of the carmels and evaporated milk, I just poured a jar of carmel ice cream topping over the top since it was easier. I will surely make this again, everyone loved it.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2008
I was so hungry for apple crisp and this was perfect. I had sweet juicy apples (lots!) so I decreased the amount of plain white sugar and water and it came out just right. Filled the pan perfectly, just the right amount of topping. Easy enough for the kids to help with and delicious right out of the oven with ice cream. Will definitely use this recipe again.

Hot 'n' Spicy Buffalo Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
Fast and easy supper! Everyone enjoyed this, even the kids...it's not too spicy. Since we're not fans of blue cheese in our house, I substituted ranch and parmesan cheese for the blue cheese dressing and crumbles. Turned out great. I'll definitely use this recipe again.

Mascarpone Stuffed French Toast with Peaches

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
This recipe was wonderful! The subtle flavors of the lemon in the marscapone and the nutmeg in the peaches really made an exciting, yet warm/comforting breakfast. My husband stated that he much preferred this breakfast to anything else we've had before because it's not overtly syrupy sweet like so many other french toast/pancake recipes. The only changes I made was using canned peaches as this was a last minute recipe and I didn't have fresh. Since the canned peaches were already sweeter than fresh I did not add the granulated sugar, but just left in a little bit of the light syrup it came in and then seasoned according to the recipe. I also used plain bread slices as I've never even seen Mexican Bolillo Rolls in my small northern town. I will definitely be using this recipe again in the future. Thanks so much!
