Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
This cobbler was excellent. The only changes I made was that I used one cup of milk and flour instead of 3/4 cups. I also added a little cinnamon and nutmeg to the flour mixture. I baked it until the edges were golden brown. To those reviewers complaining that the cobbler was soggy in the middle, a cobble is supposed to be somewhat soggy with a nice crunch from the edges. If it wasn't, you'd be having sweet bread with peaches.

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2009
This is the best pancake recipe I have ever used. They turned out so light and fluffy I could barely keep them on my fork without them crumbling off. This will be my pancake recipe from now on.

Best Easy Chicken Croquettes

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
These croquettes were delicious! What really topped it off was the sauce. I followed the recipe exactly. I can’t wait to try this recipie again when I buy my food processor.

One Bowl Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2008
I've used this recipe several times and it is very good. I only use three chocolate squares and it still has very good flavor. I'm suprised to read other reviews saying that their brownies do not have much flavor even after using four chocolate squares.

Vermont Apple Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2006
Very good recipe. I especially liked the macintosh apples because they are not too tart like granny smith apples. I also added 1/2 cup of butter to the apple mixture. I do agree with other reviewers where as the pie is somewhat runny initially. However, once it sits for a while, it is fine.

Butter Pound Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2004
I was not very successful with this recipie. This cake was much too dense even for POUND CAKE. I tried to eat it regardless of the texture. However, I ended up throwing the majority of it in the trash. I will not make this recipie again!

Southern Candied Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2004
Wonderful recipe! Candied sweet potatoes have always been one of my favorite side dishes. I have made this dish several times now, and each time the results have been perfect. If you're big on presentation I would suggest cutting the sweet potatoes in thick slices, and be gentle while stiring. They tend to get very soft while cooking.

Pecan Sour Cream Pound Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2004
Very good pound cake! My only alteration was that I reduced the sour cream to 1/2 cup and added 1/2 cup of cream cheese. This added a wonderful flavor. I just thought the cake was a tad bit too sweet. Next time I will reduce the sugar to 2 1/2 cups. However, all of my friends loved it, and have already asked me to make it again.

German Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2004
I have baked this cake twice, and both results were excellent. It seems time consuming initially, but it's well worth it. I was not very sucessful with the chocolate drizzle, so I omitted it the second time. I also replaced the evaporated milk for sweetened condensed milk. This made the frosting thicker and easier to spread. This is definitely a keeper.
