White Sauce

Reviewed: May 13, 2006
This is great but I really don't see what's original about this as you can find this recipe everywhere. Add a pinch or so of nutmeg to add more flavor and great for mediterranean dishes like moussaka or lasagne.

Honey Pork Oriental

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2006
This was a fantastic recipe and the fact that it was so simple just made it even better. However I did make a few changes: I used fresh chopped garlic and ginger instead of garlic salt and ground ginger. This made it taste even more oriental and with a much more refreshing taste. And instead of using gravy mix, I just added two tsp corn starch (dilluted in water) and added this while the liquid is simmering in the wok/pan. This recipe is now a staple in my kitchen and will keep on making it for years to come!

Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2004
This recipe was really great especially for someone who's never made a shepherd's pie before such as myself. I did, however, add more flavour and spices to the ground beef because I found it a bit bland. I used allspice, paprika, cayenne pepper and dried oregano leaves and it turned out really yummy! Also, I aded full cream milk to the mashed potatoes to make it softer and easier to spread on the casserole. Overall, this recipe is worth keeping!

Luscious Spinach Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2004
I made this for the first time for a party I went to and everybody loved it. Perhaps the only complaint is how unhealthy it was after they saw the ingredients in the recipe. It may be worthwhile to substitute low fat ingredients. But personally, if it's party food, it's got to be rich in flavour, so I wouldn't change anything in this recipe.

This recipe is so great! Practically effortless and the pancakes are truly fluffy! Will definitely be a regular on our breakfast table. No alterations to the recipe is needed I reckon.

4H Banana Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2004
It was still baking in the oven when I realized that I hit a jackpot! This is absolutely the best banana bread I've ever had. However, I took many of the suggestions into consideration and I think the recipe shouldn't be followed to the letter. I used 1/2 c butter instead of margarine, 1/2 c white sugar, 1/2 brown sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 1/4 c mashed banana, 2 eggs, and a bit more salt.

Mango Squares

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2004
This recipe is especially great with dried mangoes from the Philippines! For people watching their weight, they can cut down on the butter and sugar by around 3/4 to 1/2 of the stated amount in the recipe.
