Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Tried this recipe out for my 4th of july cookout. I marinated it overnight and felt this wasn't flavorful enough. Will probably try a different recipe next time.

Sea Bass Cuban Style

Not sure what went wrong here but I found this dish to be really bland. Maybe there was too much liquid. I only had 1/4 cup of sliced olives on hand and 1/4 of capers but there was not enough salt in those ingredients to flavor the sauce. i think maybe next time I will season and saute fish first and then add sauce over it.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Made this last night with some leftover Christmas Turkey. I followed other suggestions and cooked my carrots, celery in the broth rather than water then added the broth into the mixture. I did add extra seasoning to the gravy mixture to make it more flavorful. I also used a ready made Pillsbury dough. It was delish and looked beautiful. can't wait to make this again!

Creamed Spinach II

Made this last night for Valentines dinner for my husband. It was so simple and really good. I used reduced fat, low sodium cream of mushroom and reduced fat cream cheese. Definitely follow other reviewers and use chopped garlic and onions.

Took the advice of other reviewers and added extra can of tomatoes instead of water, and a little clam juice from a can of chopped clams and tossed those in there too. All the seafood definitely has different cooking temps. I would suggest putting in the clams first and giving that an extra 5-8 mins before adding scallops, mussels and then I think shrimp and fish last. I didn't bother with getting crab. I reheated the broth after we ate our dinner and it was even richer at the end. Yummy! I'm already craving the next time I make this. By the way, the parsley turns all swampy looking if you add it all at the beginning. i rather sprinkle mine in just before serving.

Great recipe! I was surprised at how easy it was to make. I followed the suggestions of others and used 1/3 c. applesauce instead of the full amt of oil and only one cup of sugar in the frosting. I also folded in one cup of fresh whipped cream into the frosting because it was a little too dense. I will definitely be making this again!
