About this Cook
I am recovered anorexic(almost 25 years since my last episode)...I am happy that I have made peace with food. It no longer controls my life...I enjoy cooking and love spending time around the table with friends and family.
My favorite things to cook
I love to husband and I both love to eat!
My favorite family cooking traditions
There aren't any "traditions", but my husband says that every new dish is his "absolute favorite". He must have 500 favorites!
My cooking triumphs
Mastering a dinner roll that my best friend calls BTS rolls "Better than Sex"!! The first time I made them my husband said that I should destroy the recipe, this could be disasterous to the waist line!
My cooking tragedies
Pumpkin cookies that just wouldn't cook! The entire mess went into the disposal. The girl-friend making them with me swore me to secrecy. I hope she doesn't read this because she is a "foodie" too!

I bought calamari steaks and I was looking for a simple way to cook them. I am on a special eating plan so I left off the flour and added white pepper. I sliced the steaks into small strips before seasoning and only used 4-5 TBSP of oil for cooking instead of deep frying. It popped and spattered quite a bit so next time I will be sure to pat dry the calamari before seasoning.

Red Beans and Rice
Very tasty! Served 40 guests at a seminar with the food being a Southern theme. I am a California Bay Area girl and have never done Rice and Beans. Thought it might be too spicy, but it was a hit. Cranked up the servings on the recipe to 35. Used pinto beans (personally I don't like red), didn't soak them, used Italian sausage, fresh garlic, diced onion and 1/2 the salt according to the recipe. There were several other bean dishes and tons of other food... there was only 3-4 servings left. Dinner! Delish.

Baked Ziti IV
Used Ricotta instead of Cottage (I just happened to have it on hand) added 1/3 c. Balsamic Vinegar, garlic and basil to the sauce. Also used Penne instead of Ziti. YUMMY!
