Rhubarb Strawberry Crunch

Reviewed: May 30, 2006
I divided the recipe in 2, baked it in a 8*8 square dish, and added a bit of cinnamon to the topping. This aside, I didn't change a thing and my husband loved it! Thanks!

Tofu Chocolate Pudding

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2006
Excellent! Even my husband loved it, and he's very picky! I used a 12 oz block of silken firm tofu, 1 cup of semi sweet choc. chips, 1.5 tbsp water with 1 tbsp brown sugar, 3 tbsp very vanilla soy milk, and 1 tbsp creme de cacao. I only had about 1/4 tsp vanilla extract left, so that's all I used. I blended the tofu in a food processor with the liqueur. Then I added the chocolate, melted with all the other ingredients. I blended until it was REALLY smooth. I refrigerated the whole thing for 4 hours. Thanks!

Brunch Scones

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2006
Delicious. I rolled the dough into a 6 inch log, and rolled it in about 1 tbsp white sugar. I then cut it into slices and set them on a baking sheets. I didn't brush them with the yolk... It was delicious. I froze the leftovers, and reheated them in the microwave for about 30 sec. They were still great. Thanks! UPDATE: Do NOT forget to let them stand 15 mn. I forgot the second time I made them, and they turned out pretty bad.

Easy Broccoli Quiche

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2006
Very good. I reduced the milk to 1 cup, and I am glad I did. The bottom of the quiche was still wet, even after 35 mn of cooking. But this aside, it was tasty and quick.

Molten Chocolate Cakes With Sugar-Coated Raspberries

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2006
These cakes were delicious and easy to make. I made them for Valentine's day, and since I had already baked dinner, we didn't have to wait for the oven to warm up, so it was really fast! I baked them 10 mn, I think that next time I will bake them 2 mn more, making sure I wont overcook them...

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2005
Ok, I tried this again after leaving a bad review because the rolls were still doughy inside and overcooked outside with the Temp and Cooking time. This time, I decreased the T to 350, and raised the cooking time to 25 mn. Baked in muffin cups --> Delicious. Baked in pan --> still raw. Not as much as the 1st time though. So, if you cooker longer at a lower temp, and give them plenty of room to expand, they'll be awesome. Or else, they'll be raw and a disaster. And that was with 2 different ovens, one old and one brand new.

Blue Cheese Dip II

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2005
It was ok. Not bad, but not delicious either. It contains so much saturated fat that I don't think I'll make it again.

Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2005
Mmm... A very nice change from the basic/boring bean burrito! Will certainly make it again. Thank you for that different and tasty recipe! Changes: I saute the onions, and then blend everything (1 14oz can red beans 1 14 oz can sweet potatoes, rinsed). Top with cheese, roll in a tortilla, and lightly fry on both sides (or use no oil in a nonstick saucepan).

Black Bean and Couscous Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2005
Very good and nutricious summer salad! I won't put so much cilantro next time though, and maybe a bit more lime juice.

Vegetable Biryani

Reviewed: May 22, 2005
Way too spicy for me, but my husband loved it. I didn't put any chili powder and increased the vegetables to 1 1/2 cups. Also, I'm sure it will taste better with fresh vegetables. Overall, it was very good and smelled delicious while cooking.

Buttermilk Pancakes II

Light, fluffly, tasty, and they were not flat at all, they raised pretty well. I did add some cinnamon and a few drops of vanilla extract though.

Whole Wheat Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2005
I thought they tasted pretty good, but my husband didn't care for them much. They didn't rise, and he thought they were not as good as buttermilk pancakes. I will not make them again, but they are worth trying at least once.

Wilderness Place Lodge Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2005
This cookies are SO good. They are just perfect. Don't cook more than 12 mn. They will still be soft when out of the oven, but will become harder when cooling down. They don't spread a lot, so you can bake a lot at once.

Tofu and Veggies in Peanut Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2005
We could eat it, but we won't make it again, sorry... We like all the ingredients this recipe calls for, but we thought the peanut butter was a bit out of place... Maybe we're just not used to recipes like this one?

Red Lentil Curry

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2005
Excellent! Although I had some troubles with the amount of water needed, I simmered the cooked lentils with the onion mix until the consistency was right. I substituted tomato sauce for the tomato puree. I served it with indian bread.

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2005
I am a VERY picky person when it comes to bread. I lived almost all my life in France and I tried many baguette recipes, but this one is the closest to the real thing I could find. It is not 100% the same, but that's probably because french bakers use a special oven for the baguettes. It was GREAT! CHANGES: I don't have a bread machine, so I used normal yeast (same amount) mixed with water and sugar and set aside until foamy. Last time, I used 2 cups all purp. flour, and added whole wheat until dough was ready.

Waffles I

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2005
Very good recipe. I added 1/2 t cinnamon to the mix and use 1/2 whole wheat pasty flour + 1/2 all purpose flour instead of just using white flour. My husband loved these waffles and said they smelled heavenly while they were cooking. Thank you! The recipe makes about 6 medium waffles.

Vegetarian Pate

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2005
We didn't really like it. The texture was not too appealing, and it was pretty plain. But it was easy to make, and nutricious. If served with lots of other tasty dishes, it might be ok.

Spiced Sweet Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2005
Excellent. I used 8 oz of red peppers, brushed them with olive oil, and broiled them until the skin started to turn black. I put them in a bag for a few mn to remove the skin more easily. I think adding a little bit of water would make the consistency smoother and bettre. Will make it again.
