Spooky Witches' Fingers

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2012
These were great and the recommendation to add jam at one end and under the nail before baking were on point. They were a hit at both my children's Halloween parties.

Chocolate-Peanut Butter Cupcakes by KRAFT

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2012
My husband sampled one before I popped them in the fridge overnight for my son's class. He raved about it. The frosting I followed exactly but needed more time in my crappy microwave to get my chocolate to melt to the point where I could mix it thoroughly with the whipped topping. As another reviewer mentioned, it does set "shiny" like a dipped doughnut or ding dong type pastry. I put the chocolate frosting in a plastic bag and clipped the corner and poured it in circles starting from the peanut butter pudding hole to where I wanted it to stop without running over the cupcake paper liner. I also pierced deep with the peanut buttery filling and injected it until my cupcake inflated a tad bit and I almost used all of the filling up. I hope it's as successful with my son's 2nd grade class as it was with my husband.

Southern Green Beans

I cooked it as written and it was tasty but too much for my children. They picked out the potatoes but ate everything else.

Served it tonight exactly as is, and all my children and DH ate it up and had seconds. Moist and delicious!

Easy Pumpkin Muffins

Followed the recipe verbatim and was pleasantly surprised. It really is that easy. Will play around with this now as it makes an excellent foundation for other possibilities.

Ti Amo Tiramisu Treats™

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2010
Don't pack the rice krispies in the pan or it's too hard to enjoy the dish. Using Frozen whipped cream topping made the cream top clumpy. Might want to try thawing it in the fridge before folding it.

Real Homemade Tamales

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2010
Used this for Christmas and was impressed. The pork filling was raved about. A bit spicy for children but adults loved it with the chiliheads adding hot sauce but everyone else leaving it as is. I couldn't find lard, thus used shortening instead. So I tripled and replaced the plain salt in the masa portion with garlic salt for flavor. I'll rate again after finding lard. Thank you!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2006
Threw it all in the crockpot on high for 5 hours and it was surprisingly great(added side dishes consisting of a lb of baby carrots, 8 whole red potatoes, 1 lb of sliced mushrooms, & generous TBSP of crushed garlic). Lots of gravy which was easily thickened with a cornstarch mix. The entire family loved it including the in-laws. This recipe is a keeper.

Chicken Adobo II

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2004
This is a keeper. 4 modifications I made were substituting rice vinegar instead of white vinegar, added 1 tsp of ground ginger, added 3 crushed garlic cloves and added one cup of water. Definitely take the bay leaves out but leave the garlic in. I let it all boil covered for 30 minutes. This served over steamed rice was so good! Next time I'll take the skins off to cut back on fat but thanks for this great recipe!

Korean BBQ Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2004
Edited my rating after first using this marinade successfully for a guest dinner using chicken thighs. This time it was for our group's food booth. I adjusted this recipe for a lot more chicken (10 1-gal bags of cubed chicken) but used everything in the recipe only added more GARLIC (added 1 teaspoon garlic powder like before but added 1 tablespoon minced garlic this time.) Seriously, our food booth for hot chicken sticks was the busiest with a long line that lasted until we finally sold out. Thanks this spicy marinade is a keeper!

Carrot Pineapple Cake I

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2004
I tried this recipe but substituted half the oil with low-fat buttermilk, added another cup of shredded carrots, and doubled the cream cheese frosting. It didn't sink (mixed with wooden spoon) and the cake received rave reviews. Hubby gets his carrot cake fix often at boutiques and bakeries but swears this is the best. Next time I will delete the coconut and switch the eggs with egg substitute. Might even try non-fat cream cheese. This is the best carrot cake I have tried.
