Tostones (Fried Plantains)

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2005
Mmmm! These are great! A Puerto Rican friend of mine taught me how to make a dipping sauce (consisting of crushed garlic and ketchup) to go along with these! They're still great plain.

Red Enchilada Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2005
This was very good and tasted similar to canned sauce (however I still prefer the canned over this).

Shredded Beef Enchiladas

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2005
This was good... I think next time I'll kick it up a notch and add some jalepenos. In addition, I made the red enchilada sauce receipe from this site, as others suggested (however, I think it'd taste better with canned sauce).

Delicious recipe! I baked and shredded some chicken breast and added it to the cooked mole sauce.

Brooklyn Girl's Penne Arrabiata

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2005
OUTSTANDING! This is one of THE BEST Italian recipes that I've tried. However, if you prefer milder foods, decrease the amount of red pepepr flakes; this is packed with a lot of heat!

Cranberry Chicken I

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2005
My (picky) husband believed me when I told him the sauce was a "different type" of bbq sauce ;) - however, don't get me wrong, it tastes nothing like it (just kind of resembles in appearance and texture). We both loved it!

This was delicious! It turned a beautiful golden brown with a bit of a nice, crunchy edge.

This is the tastiest salisbury steak that I've had! You should definitely double the sauce.

Better Than Best Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2005
I was in such a rush preparing dinner tonight that for some reason I had "cornmeal" in my mind rather than "cornstarch". After mixing all of the dry ingredients (cornmeal added instead of cornstarch), I then realized the mistake I had made, but instead of making a new batch, just added the cornstarch to what I already had. I thought that I may have botched the recipe, but it turned out great! Thanks for the recipe!

Japanese Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2005
Although I was already expecting this to taste great, this was, by far, much better than I was hoping for! I used fresh garlic, chicken breasts cut into smaller (wing-sized) portions, and red wine vinegar (because I ran out of white). This is one to add to the favorites!

Jalapeno-Blue Cheese Burgers

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2005
This is an EXCELLENT burger recipe and one of the most flavorful that I've had. I was a little hesitant thinking that it'd be too spicy and the blue cheese overpowering, but with the positive reviews, I had to try it and am glad I did. It had just enough zing for the taste buds and the perfect amount/blend of seasonings.

The Original Treats™

Truly classic and *the* recipe for this great treat. For the holidays, I mix food coloring into the saucepan (red or green for Christmas, orange for Halloween, etc.,) for a more festive treat!

Restaurant-Style Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2005
When I go to OG, this is just about the only thing that I'll eat there. So, I'd say that I know this soup better than any other! This soup resembled the Zuppa Toscana from OG in some ways, but I wouldn't go as far as to say that it tasted *just* like it. If I try this again, I'll substitute the smoked sausage with ground italian. It also seemed to be missing something else... I like the suggestion someone else made of adding some crushed red peper. Maybe that'll do it.

Salsa Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2005
This definitely doesn't have an authentic Mexican taste as some of the reviewers have noted... You can tell just by looking at the list of ingredients (although Faye didn't claim and I wasn't expecting for it to have). However, I do agree that this recipe is very simple and tasty.
