Mom's Favorite Baked Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2014
Very good recipe! I did use more noodles - probably about 11oz, and it was still plenty cheesy and rich. The velveeta gave it a nice creaminess but didn't overpower the sharp cheddar (I used craft extra sharp - probably about 3/4 of the block. I will not hesitate to make this again!

Lemon Snowflake Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2013
Yummy! Just what I was looking for. I only had a white cake mix so I added a little lemon extract & yellow food coloring. The dough was sticky but not hard at all to deal with - just used 2 spoons to drop blobs into the powdered sugar, sprinkled some on top and then rolled into balls in my hands. My hands got sugary but not sticky at all. Cant wait to try different flavors - like maybe chocolate with some almond extract!

Charley's Slow Cooker Mexican Style Meat

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2013
Great easy recipe! I used Dave's Insanity Sauce for the hot sauce it turned out a little too hot for me! Next time I will just use tabasco. I used Venison and Moose and it turned out good.

Megan's Granola

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2013
Used 1/2 oil and half applesauce. It was a little chewier than I liked so next time I will cook it a little longer. I was just so worried because of all the warnings about it burning! A good recipe for my first try at granola!

Classic Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2013
I halved the recipe and it fit perfectly in a loaf pan. I baked it for 1 hour and 15 minutes. It definitely had a distinct taste - I think from the vegetables. I changed the glaze a little - more ketchup, less brown sugar, etc. Just to my own tastes.

Passion Bars

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2013
These are very good. Just like an Oatmeal Carmelita, except with peanut butter/condensed milk instead of caramel. I ran out of regular peanut butter and had to use about half of the reduced fat kind and they still turned out great. I baked them for 30 minutes and it seemed just right. Thanks for the recipe!

Chococonut Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2013
Yummy cookies! I took some other's suggestions and used 1/2 cup butter & 1/4 shortening. I also only used 3/4 cup of white sugar. I used 1 cup butterscotch chips and 1 cup chocolate chips. The coconut I used was unsweetened and finely shredded - so I only used what I had -which was about 1 1/2 cups. Most of the cookies stayed pretty thick - only a few flattened out. I will be using this recipe again!

Pizza Buns

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2013
Great recipe to tweak to your tastes! I added black olives, turkey pepperoni, green peppers & mushrooms to the onions and ground beef. (and forgot to add the parmesan cheese) I also only used 6 buns (12 halves) and it worked out perfectly. I'll be sure to make this again. Thanks for the recipe!

Lemon Ice-Box Cake I

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2013
This recipe wasn't my favorite. My first comment is that the graham cracker crust doesn't go well with the lemon flavor of the filling. It would have been better using a crust made from Nila wafers, or maybe a shortbread type crust. I think those types of crusts would compliment the lemon flavor instead of clashing with it the way the graham cracker one did. My other thought is that it would be a more successful dessert if it were a bit more firm. The filling was just too mushy to serve well. I think a little for firmness would also make the dessert more palatable.

Hearty Breakfast Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2013
Great muffins! Very moist and dense. I added a little vanilla and used Craisins instead of dried cherries, but other than that didn't change anything. I cooked mine for the full 22 minutes to bake - and maybe could have used a few more.

Basic Buttermilk Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2012
Great muffins! I added blueberries, white chocolate chips and a little lemon extract. I didn't use the nutmeg - I don't care for it. I forgot to set the timer so I ended up cooking them a lot longer than I normally would have - but it ended up being a good thing! The tops were nice and crunchy!

Green Salad with Cranberry Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2012
Great recipe. I added about 1 Tbsp honey to the dressing and it was perfect. I used feta cheese, and also added some craisins, pears & granny smith apple along with the red onion and almonds. I also used spinach for half of the greens. I'll surely be making this one again!

good potato salad! I loved all the olives and pickles. I even used regular old potatoes that you buy in the 10lb bag.

Chocolate Cupcakes with Caramel Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2012
My eleven year old made these all by himself! They were great. I did find that they could have been cooked a few minutes longer. And the frosing made way too much - but who doesn't love leftover frosting so you have to make something else to use it up!!

Low Sugar Strawberry Rhubarb Crunch

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2012
Very good! I took some other reviewers suggestions and added an additional TBSP of sugar to the fruit as well as 2 TBSPs of cornstarch. It turned out really well - I love how you can taste the great flavor of the rhubarb since it is not too sweet. I'll definitely be making this one again!

Cranberry Sticky Buns

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2012
These were great! I made 1 1/2 of the filling. The topping amount I kept the same - and it was plenty. I refrigerated the uncooked rolls overnight and baked them the next morning. They turned out perfect - especially for a cranberry lover!
