This was amazingly good. My minimal changes: butter; blended butter, sugar, and eggs b/4 adding the rest; put 1 T lemon jce in cup and added enough milk (evap) to make 1/2 c; greased pan and used parchment paper. Next time will try more lemon jce in batter and a bit less sugar in topping. The topping was a little sugary, but that may have been because of humid weather or not enough jce. An unexpected treat: removing the loaf from the pan, I smelled a buttery, lemony goodness. Long ago I lost most of my sense of smell. To feel like I walked by a little bakery right after a batch of lemon bread was taken out of the oven, I have to thank you, manella. Getting this connection - and knowing instantly what it was - after 31 yrs of near nothing makes me want to make this bread often.
