About this Cook
I enjoy cooking as a hobby and as a way to learn something new. As a pharmacist, work keeps me so busy, so technical, that I need something that is creative to open my mind... cooking gives me that outlet. I enjoy food, and I enjoy good friends... put the two together, and you have a great evening ahead of you!
My favorite things to cook
Anything creamy, rich, buttery... you get the picture! Other than that, I'm open to alot of things. I noticed that when it comes to baking, however, I prefer short-cut recipes. Nowadays, I've tried to cut out a lot of my creamy vices, and looking for delicious, healthier alternatives.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making eggrolls- homestyle!
My cooking triumphs
Any recipe that turns out a winner is a triumph in my book!
My cooking tragedies
I tried to make caramel once. What a disaster! I set off all the smoke alarms, and charred my poor little saucepan beyond repair. Since then, I have caramel-phobia.

Grilled Fish Tacos with Chipotle-Lime Dressing
My husband raved about it. For the fish, I sub'd the chili powder for cayenne pepper (all i had), but kept everything else same. The lime dressing I liked, but omitted the chipotle. My husband ate it so fast, I barely had time to scoop up enough for one taco before he finished both of our portions!! lol.. oh, well, that means it was good!! :)

Lemon Blueberry Bread
delicious. I really enjoyed this one, and it's a wonderful use of blueberries! Mine came out not-too-sweet, and pound cake-like. Thanks for sharing!

Seasoned Turkey Burgers
I had planned on making the recipe exactly as written, but turned out that my onion packet was expired! So I sub'd 1/4 tsp onion powder and 1/2 small sweet onion chopped, and it came out perfect. It made me look like a hero! My husband loved it, and asked for it weekly. I cooked it on the stove, and covered it for the last 6 minutes or so. Thanks!!
