Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2008
This is a very good dish. I omitted the celery salt and lemon juice and added 1/2 cup bread crumbs, 1/2 t paprika 1/4 t garlic powder. Both my husband and I thought the fish turned out delicious.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2008
I used 2 cans of biscuits like the recipe says but that makes a lot of dumplings. I think 1 would be enough. I added them about 90 minutes before the dish was done and the biscuits absorbed all the yummy sauce. I also seasoned the chicken with salt, pepper and garlic powder before putting it in the slow cooker and used chicken broth instead of water. I'll make this again.

Barbecue Beef Cups

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2008
This recipe has been around for decades. It was a pillsbury bake-off winner from the 1960's. It's still a winner today. My mother-in-law gave me this recipe. She used to make it for my husband when he was a kid. I use a full pound of beef and add 2 T of brown sugar. I love the sweetness the brown sugar gives the meat. I also use more cheese, because my husband and I are both cheese addicts. I highly recommend you make this dish. It's very kid friendly too.

Spicy Crab Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2008
1 1/2 T of red pepper flakes would be way too spicy. I used half that and it was enough. I thought this dish was really good. I enjoy a lot of sauce on my pasta so next time, I'll make the same amount of sauce, but half the amount of pasta. I'm only cooking for two anyway.

Baked Garlic Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2008
This recipe was okay, but not anything I'd make again. I didn't feel like it had a lot of flavor.

Monkey Bread I

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
I made monkey bread for the first time Christmas Day and it was very good. I didn't include raisins. I recommend placing half of the biscuits in the bundt pan and then drizzling with half the sugar/butter mixture. Then follow with the rest of the biscuits and mixture. I used more cinnamon than listed and used white sugar instead of brown sugar. Instead of melting the sugar with the butter, I mixed the sugar in 1 1/2 sticks of melted butter and it worked fine.

Calico Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
I only had 1/3 cup of brown sugar and I forgot to put in the mustard, but this dish still turned out very good. I drained my beans for a thicker consistency and served it as a main dish with cornbread.

Traditional Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
This is how my mom makes her mashed potatoes. I made them tonight with a pot roast and it was a wonderful meal.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
Awesome is the perfect word to describe this pot roast. I have tried many different pot roast recipes and this one tasted the best and was the easiest too. I seasoned the meat with salt, pepper, garlic powder and flour and then browned it in 2 T vegetable oil over medium-high heat. I followed the recipe after that. Awesome!

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
Delicious! I could have eaten it all myself. I used a few more chocolate chips than the recipe called for and it was perfect.

No Bake Cookies III

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
These are my favorite cookies. I let the mixture boil for about 1 minute 15 seconds and they always turn out well.

Spinach Dip with Water Chestnuts

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
I've made this recipe many times over the last few years. I leave out the water chestnuts and green onions, because my husband doesn't care for them. It's great with tortilla chips.

Egg and Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
I made this exactly as the recipe reads. It was okay, but I'll keep looking for my perfect breakfast casserole. If you're going to try this one, use other's suggestions and add milk and more eggs.

Sausage and Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
Delicious and easy. I followed the recipe exactly. It could have used a couple more minutes in the oven, but other than that I wouldn't change a thing.

Slow Cooker Kielbasa and Beer

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
I brought this to work and everyone loved it. I browned the kielbasa and then transferred that to a plate. In the same pan, I browned 1 chopped sweet apple with a chopped onion and then added 1 T of minced garlic. Threw it all in the slow cooker with 1 T of honey and let it do it's thing. I'm not a big fan of kielbasa, sauerkraut or beer but even I liked it.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2004
This is the best chocolate chip recipe! They're so soft and full of chocolate. If I didn't have to worry about my weight, I'd make these every weekend. No changes have to be made to the recipe for a perfect cookie.

Buttery Cooked Carrots

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2004
The carrots were good, however, I expected them to have more flavor. I don't think I let them sit long enough in the butter/brown sugar mixture. Next time I'll allow more time.

Double Chocolate Brownie Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2004
I made this twice in one week. My whole family loved it! I recommend drizzling the cake with chocolate syrup and heating it up. A scoop of vanilla ice cream and it's perfect.
