Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2011
My family always has canned cranberry sauce with Thanksgiving dinner. It's a tradition, so we still had the canned version, but I wanted to make homemade sauce. All the comments I received were positive. I followed the recipe exactly and will definitely make it again.

Grandma's Corn Bread Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2011
My granny is very picky about dressing. Normally we purchase dressing from a restaurant on Thanksgiving, but I decided to make it this year. I followed the directions exactly except I had chicken broth rather than chicken stock. For cornbread I used the recipe on the back of a bag of cornmeal. I thought the recipe was perfect. I wouldn't change a thing. Even granny approved.

S'mores Crumb Bars

Reviewed: May 30, 2011
I made the recipe as written and it didn't work for me. There's not enough of the graham cracker crumb to cover the bottom of the dish. Plus the recipe says "Remove from the oven and immediately press top firmly with spatula." That was a huge mistake. Everything stuck to the spatula and the chocolate and marshmallow turned into a big mess. I took them to a friend's house. Everyone tried them, but no one said they were good. I'll stick to making my indoor smores under the broiler.

Rosemary Roasted Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2010
I didn't like the pork tenderloin, but that could simply be because I'm not a big fan of the meat. The idea of rosemary and apple juice intrigued me enough to get me to try yet another pork tenderloin dish. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't for me.

Lemon Blueberry Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2010
This was fine, but not good enough that I'd make again. After reading all the reviews, I was expecting the bread to taste like a cake. It was sweet, but not nearly sweet enough that I'd consider it a cake. It was more of a bread, in my opinion, just like the title states. I followed the recipe exactly, but I was a tad short on zest. I took the bread to a potluck and came home with over half of it. Some of it is going to end up being thrown away and I hate that.

Cream Cheese and Ham Spread

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2010
This is the recipe I use for a cheeseball. I always double it and add 1/2 cup chopped pecans to the mix. Then I roll it all up into a ball and cover with another 1/2 cup chopped pecans. It seems so simple, but it's delicious.

Kielbasa and Kidney Beans

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2010
Surprisingly, I really liked this dish. The red and green from the peppers made it pleasing to the eyes and it had just enough sweetness. I used turkey sausage because of personal preference. It's perfect for busy moms because the whole meal was ready in about 10 minutes.

Fudge Truffle Cheesecake

Reviewed: May 28, 2010
Very nice chocolately treat! I prepared the recipe exactly as written. I made sure everything was room temperature before starting and once the cheesecake was done baking, I turned the oven off and let it rest (in the oven) for an hour. I can't wait to make it again.

Lemon Coconut Squares

Reviewed: May 28, 2010
I made this recipe exactly as written. I took the bars to a cookout and ended up bringing at least half of them home. I liked the lemon taste, but I didn't feel the cocconut added anything to the recipe. Next time I'll just make regular lemon bars.

Delicious. I'll be replacing my old garlic bread recipe with this one.

Tangy Poppy Seed Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2009
I was craving fruit salad today and this hit the spot. There's no need to change a thing, but fresh fruit always tastes better. I loved the flavor the dressing gave the fruit.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2009
I wasn't sure about the sour cream, but it worked really well in this recipe. I halved the recipe which would be plenty to feed 4. The only other changes I made were mixing the ziti with the sauce and covering the dish in the oven to keep it from drying out. I'll be turning to this recipe often.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2009
I made this carrot cake for Easter. I only made half a cake because there was only two of us. Grating the carrots was a pain, but the final product was worth it. It took 6 small to medium carrots to get 1 1/2 cups worth, so for a full recipe it would take about 12.

Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2009
I made this ham for Easter dinner. It turned out delicious. I only made half the glaze and it was plenty for a 5 pound ham. Watch the ham very carefully while it's under the broiler. It will only take a minute or two. I can't wait for leftovers!

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2009
I have a green bean casserole recipe that I love, but I wanted something easier for today. The only thing I changed was to saute the onions in the butter until tender before I added the flour and other ingredients. I liked the flavors, but the crackers weren't as good as the traditional fried onions.

Savory Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2009
I love deviled eggs, but I'd never made them myself. This was a good recipe, but I changed it slightly. Instead of using dill, I added a tsp of sweet relish. And a deviled egg isn't a deviled egg without a sprinkle of paprika on the top!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
Very moist and delicous. I used brown sugar in my topping and didn't quite fill my muffin cups to the top. I ended up getting 11 muffins out of the batter. I'll be making another batch very soon.

Baked Salmon II

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2009
My husband complimented me on this salmon without me even having to ask. That's a good sign. The only change I made was to simply put the salmon in the oven straight out of the fridge. I just left it in the glass dish covered with aluminum foil.
