About this Cook
Right now I'm a student with no car so grocery shopping is a little difficult. I'm currently looking for good recipes that don't require a lot of ingredients or canned foods. :) I also gave up vegetarianism after 7 years so I'm experimenting with different meat recipes. Let's just say my grilling skills aren't quite up to par yet.
My favorite things to cook
Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Homemade whipped cream, any kind of fruit crisps.
My cooking triumphs
My first Thanksgiving turkey (made at age 12) was perfect.

Slow Cooker Lentil and Ham Soup
Added a can of diced tomatoes to it as suggested in other reviews. Also ended up using an entire 8 oz can of tomato sauce instead of 8 tsps. Next time I would add a bit more black pepper and probably some cayenne to give it some spice. Very good!

Best Black Beans
Very good! I substituted celery for the onion, added a red bell pepper and a jalapeno. Also added a splash of lime juice and a bit of chili powder. Served over brown rice with a chicken thigh.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies
These come out great every single time! I used OJ instead of water.
