About this Cook
I am a personal trainer in San Francisco, CA. In additional to fitness, I teach my clients about health and nutrition. I am compiling healthy recipes for them, including: Breakfast, soups, salads, sandwiches, dinner, dessert and snacks. I only cook healthy recipes and avoid processed foods as much as possible because they affect my mental health and I believe a poor diet leads to chronic disease. If you ever find yourself dieting or asking yourself, Why exercise? Why eat healthy? The answer is Longevity! When you eat healthy and exercise, you lower your risk or chronic disease, and are more likely to live longer! I recently became a vegetarian and often eat vegan meals so my recipes are healthy, low-calorie, and low-fat. Yay for healthy recipes!
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking soups, Indian Food, Italian Food, Mexican Food and Mediterranean Food. I love making healthy recipes, vegetarian food, vegan food and anything that is nutritious.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Chopping vegetables! lol
My cooking triumphs
Conquering the spices of Indian Food and my Mexican Pico De Gallo
My cooking tragedies
Meat! I've only been a vegetarian since January of 2013. Every time I cooked meat it was a disaster. Flavorless, dry, possibly rotten at times... Maybe that's why I switched to vegetarian and vegan dishes! Healthy Recipes without meat can still be incredibly tasty!

Baked Kale Chips
This is a good recipe for kale chips, but I changed some things. I sprinkled seasoning salt instead of using the entire amount. I also added harissa paste (ethnic hot sauce), fresh ground pepper, garlic flakes and sunflower oil because olive oil turns into "bad fat" at hot temperatures. I'll definitely make these again using my modifications, of course!

Arrabbiata Sauce
I bought a bottle of Arrabbiata sauce from Whole Foods, and wanted to kick it up a notch. I used the herbs and spices in this recipe and it turned out really well. I used onion, garlic, basil, red pepper flakes, lemon juice, Italian seasoning, black pepper and fresh parsley. Based on the positive reviews, I will definitely be making my own Arrabbiata from now on.
