Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2013
love it! I've been using this recipe for years, but am finally reviewing. I get asked to make this everytime we have a party! Only thing I do differently is add onions. I've also used a coke once when I didn't have any rootbeer and was just as delicious. So easy.

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2008
I was put off by the negative reviews of the sauce, but I was craving salisbury steak so badly I made my own sauce with soup mix like many other reviewers suggested. It was bland as could be. If I try this again, I will make the recipe as is. It couldn't be any worse than how mine tasted. The meat "cakes" were good, I added a lot of garlic and onion to it along with preseasoned bread crumbs.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2007
I didn't think I'd find a meatloaf I liked better than mom's, but I did! I used less milk and cut the brown sugar by almost half and used seasoned dry breadcrumbs, at the suggestion of other reviewers. While the ketchup/sugar thing made a tasty gooey sauce in the bottom of the pan, I think next time I will put all of the mix on the top.

Simple Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2006
YUM!! This won't replace my traditional chili, but it was really good. The fiancee isn't a big kidney bean fan so next time I might use only 3/4 of a can. Ran out chili power so I used some leftover taco seasoning powder. Served with shredded cheddar cheese and a glop of sour cream - awesome!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2006
Delicious!!! This was so easy and soooo good. I used low fat soup and low sodium chicken broth in place of the water, tossed in some fresh chopped garlic with the onion and a few splashes of white wine I had open. Before I added the biscuit dough, I removed the chicken, shredded it and put it back in. Previous reviewers were right, it took closer to an hour for the dumplings to cook to our liking. It was even better the next day!!

Beef Stroganoff III

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2006
Don't know what I did wrong. I followed the recipe but it didn't turn out very well. Simmered on very low heat and the broth cooked away in 5 minutes (not one hour) leaving the meat so tough it was hard to cut, even with a steak knife. I kept adding more broth, but didn't help. After everything was mixed at the end, the sauce was ok, so we threw out the meat and just ate the creamy sauce with egg noodles. If I try again, I'll follow one of the reviewers that used ground beef.

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2006
Awesome!! We're not fans of honey so I didn't expect too much, but they were delicious!! Next time I'm following some suggestions by using pork and adding pineapple.

Hamburger Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2006
I gave this 3 stars because while it was pretty good, there was just something missing from it. It was good for a quick dinner and I will probably make it again, but the next time I will follow some of the reviews. I would cut back on the amount of water, add some tomato paste and brown my beef with lots of garlic, maybe some herbs too.

Tomato Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2006
Not good at all. The chops were dry, the sauce was bland. I followed some of the others' suggestions by adding fresh herbs and fresh garlic, but it did not help. This one won't make a second appearance on my table. Sorry.

Quick Chicken And Wine

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2005
DELICIOUS!! As suggested by a few reviewers, I dried the chicken very well and then dipped it in flour before the egg and it helped everything stick better. I also added just a tiny bit more wine towards the end of cooking time because it cooked away too quickly. This one will make a weekly appearance on our dinner table!

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2005
Sorry - after reading the reviews I expected this to be a lot better than it actually was. Way too spicy - the cayenne AND red pepper flakes were too much. If I make it again I will leave one of them out. However, my boyfriend said he sure wouldn't complain if I made it again.

Mushroom Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2005
After reading the reviews I really expected these chops to be great. I used the "golden" mushroom soup and it was just so-so. I love mushrooms, but this was sort of bland. Sorry!

Skillet Pork Chops with Potatoes and Onion

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2005
Awesome!! The reviews were right, the chops were so tender they just fell apart. Tasted great without the lemon juice (didn't have any). I used store-brand parm. cheese in the can that I had in the fridge, but I'll bet it tastes even better with freshly grated cheese! My potatoes sort of dried up quickly, (but no complaints) so serve it up right away after cooking.

Grilled Garlic Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2005
Pretty good potatoes. I read some of the reviews and see a lot of people had trouble with them sticking -- use the Reynold's Non-Stick Foil, it really does work. I didn't use as much cheese, and they could have used a bit more salt or something to give them some zing, but they were really tender and were sure a lot easier than trying to flip them in a skillet. This is a good recipe to play with....

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2005
Thanks for the wonderful recipe! This was my first try at pot pie and we loved it. I think the prep-time takes A LOT longer that 20 minutes but it was well worth it. Using the refridgerated rolled up pie crust definitely helps. I also used baby carrots without cutting them up and they came out very tender. I threw in some low-fat cream of chix soup too. Thanks for the wonderful recipe!

California Chicken Spaghetti

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2004
Great recipe! I used canned diced tomatoes with garlic and basil in place of fresh tomatoes because I couldn't find nice ones at the grocer, and they really worked well. The juice in the canned tomatoes helped to create more sauce for the pasta, otherwise I think it may be too dry. Also I cut the pasta in half. Used parm instead of feta and it was great. Really tasty and easy. Will be making this one again!

Beef Bourguignon II

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2004
This is soooo good. I made it one other time and it turned out wonderful - I thought it was just beginner's luck, but I made it again today for Sunday dinner and it again it turned out great. I was wondering if anyone had added potatoes to it, at what time during the cooking process would you add them?

Flip Flop Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2004
Not bad, it was very moist, but not very flavorful. I used only one bottle of good beer - maybe that was the problem.
