To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2012
Definitely lives up to the name. These were SOOOOO good! And came together really quickly. I didn't have any plain white sugar in the house, but I had some of that substitute and sugar blend and it turned out great. I would use regular or brown sugar in the topping, as I could taste that difference, but it was still very good. I did splash in a little extra milk. UPDATE: I substituted apple sauce for the oil this morning (I was out of veg oil and I wanted to try it a little healthier) and they were DELICIOUS still!!

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2011
I only needed half so I halved the ingredients to suit my needs. This frosting is perfection. It's not like creamed sugar, you can actually taste the cream cheese. I doubt I'll buy the can again unless I'm crunched for time (although, this took all of 10 minutes and I used cream cheese and butter straight from the fridge!) I will also say that the reason I only needed half was because I didn't realize that I would need more than one can of the store bought. So for consistancy's sake, I made my own, then dumped in the can...A completely new taste and experience.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2011
Ordinarily, I lothe it when someone reviews a recipe on here based on the changes they made. HOWEVER, that being said, I started making this last night too late to use the directions as written. I did use the ingredients as written (down to the Franks sauce...buffalo style :) ) only I microwaved it all in a big measuring bowl. I have to say, it tasted great. Next time I make it, and there will be a next time, I'll use the crock pot method, if for no other reason than to keep it warm while serving. But it was the star of my super bowl show :)

Corn Fritters

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2010
The only reason I didn't give this one 5 is because like other reviewers, I added extra sugar. I made a test fritter as the recipe was written and it was just a little bland for me. But the addition of a couple extra tablespoons of sugar remedied that. I like how it is a really good starter batter, I could sub almost anything for the corn: Squash, zucchini, even add some cinnamon and apples for a good dessert! It's different from the ones I've had at restaurants in that it's flour based rather than corn bread based and I like that.

All-Day Apple Butter

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
This is really good. I didn't have any cloves and like a previous reviewer, I just omitted it. And I used half brown sugar and half white. Also, I let it cook all day and night and still was too chunky even after stirring so I just popped it in the blender and it turned out great. My kids woke up this morning thinking I was baking something yummy for breakfast :) Fooled them HA!

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
I have to say that I love these cookies. My Dear Husband is a peanut butter fanatic so he likes to have them a lot. This is the perfect amount for our family to finish without feeling guilty for eating all the cookies :) I did add a bit of vanilla, but other than that used only the 3 ingredients listed. I didn't roll them into balls as the dough looked too sticky, so I spooned them out like you would chocolate chip cookies and pushed them down with a fork and they were rustic and very pretty and extremely delicious. I may try making them with Splenda next time for my mom who is a diabetic.

Self-Rising Flour

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2008
This was cool since I wanted to use some wheat flour and they don't sell self-rising wheat flour in my stores. It worked great for my pancakes!

Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2008
OMG...If I could give this 10 stars I would. I actually caught the pork on sale for $.89 per pound so I bought 2. Thinking I'd use one for my daughters luau and the other I'd roast up in the oven. Let me tell you, I'm glad I made this first. It was so good and got rave reviews at the luau that I decided to cook the second one this way too! I couldn't find the Hawaiian red sea salt, so I just used regular sea salt and it was still wonderful. Thanks for such a delicious and simple recipe.

Microwave Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: May 22, 2008
The first time I made this, I forgot the butter. So the second time I made it, I remembered it, but it was better without the butter! It seemed like the butter made it too mushy. Of course it tasted good, so I ate it anyway, but I think next time I will cut way back on the butter.

Garlic Lover's Pizza Crust for the Bread Machine

Reviewed: May 5, 2008
This was a pretty good crust. I really like the flavor (I didn't have any fresh garlic so I used garlic powder and threw in a little dried basil for color). It was a little chewy for my preference, I like a really crisp crust. I would definately use this one again only decrease the water a little and maybe make the dough a little thinner.

Home-Style Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2008
These potatoes were GREAT! I could have made a meal just on them! I will never buy those fake boxed potatoes again. I shredded a little white cheddar over the top and it was truly yummy :) I about halved the recipe and used the spiral blade on my old Tater Twister to get the perfect slices. Also, I used skim milk and the sauce turned out perfectly (although I used a little less than the scaled recipe called for). I'll be a hit at all the potlucks with this one.

Colored Sugar

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2007
What a great idea!!! I actually used about 4 drops to half a cup of sugar, but it was really great since I sent hubby to find red and green for Christmas and he came back with the pastel mix....the red was actually more pink, i think I'll add more color and let it dry out before using, but the green was perfect. Also, I used plastic throw away bowls with see thru lids...it was really cool to watch it suddenly seem to transform to color!!!

BAKER'S ONE BOWL Macaroons

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
This is a really simple recipe. I gave it 5 stars because it's easy, only 3 ingredients, and takes about 10 minutes for the first batch to be done (of course then it has to cool or you burn your tongue). I do however recommend that you place waxed or parchment paper on your cooling racks so they don't fall through.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2007
This is a "go-to" recipe for me when I know I won't be able to cook dinner. I added the recipe to my box in July 2003 and have made it countless times. Last time I made it, I used bottom round and it held it's shape even through cooking all day, but was still tender. Then I took the left overs, cut the meat bite sized, heated on the stove top, added sour cream and it was a marvelous stroganoff!!!

Awesome Broccoli-Cheese Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2001
I made this for my office's Thanksgiving shindig last year and made something similar this year. Everyone was wondering why I didn't make the delicious dish that I made last year! Guess I won't make that mistake again next year!
