About this Cook
I LOVE crafts! That being said, cooking for me is another craft I can perfect. It's all about having fun, relaxing, and being creative!
My favorite things to cook
Love, love, love to cook soups and stews. I mean really....what's better than comfort food???
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving is our huge holiday and soul food is what's for dinner! I enjoy the fact that we use recipes that involve the concept of "a little of this, little of that". Everything I know how to cook from family recipes were learned by sitting in the kitchen and helping to make it or watching. That's the best thing about family recipes, they involve so much more than just measurements.
My cooking triumphs
I make the best darn chicken soup, EVER!!!! I mean honestly, in one word it is, EPIC.
My cooking tragedies
So....I can't make an omelet (or spell it) to save my life. It fails every single time.

Filet Mignon with Rich Balsamic Glaze
My hubby thinks I am a gourmet cook since I made this meal! Perfect dish for an intimate dinner for that special someone. It comes out flavorful and juicy. In one word this dish is sexy. LOL! This recipe is a true winner, and amazingly simple for how lovely it comes out! FABULOUS recipe, thanks for sharing!

Good New Orleans Creole Gumbo
This recipe is FANTASTIC!!! This is why I love love love allrecipes because there is no way I would have know how to cook gumbo this good. It comes out with the perfect amount of smoky, spicy, deliciousness. With the exception of being able to use butter instead on bacon grease, follow the recipe to the T the first time you make it. THEN see if you want to tweak anything to your family liking. Trust me ya won't be disappointed. Next time I make mine, I think I will leave out the salt and tabasco until the very end because the sausage I used was quite spicy on it's own. But my DH adored this and I'm eating a bowl now so, no complaints. Also, use the andouille sausages, they are a MUST! Thank you so much for sharing your family recipe, it will be a staple recipe of mine forever now!
