Waffles I

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2014
These were the best waffles, so much that I will not even buy a mix from now on. You do have to beat the eggs for about 8-10 minutes so they are really light. I did increase the sugar to 1/4 cup and added it to the eggs ads I was beating them. You have to make sure your waffle iron is very hot, and they are so light and crisp, they are just amazing!!

Chicken Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken)

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2010
I like Indian food, but I dont really know much about it. This was a very easy recipe to follow and the end results were really good. I like spicy foods, and I did add a little extra spices to make it hotter, but really good and really easy!

Portuguese Sweet Bread I

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2008
I, as many of the other reviewers, do not use a bread machine, I much prefer using a kitchen aid, bread pans and an oven. Anyway... I added some cinnamon, nutmeg and a touch of ginger and used this to make French Toast, it was amazing! This is a very easy bread to make, the dough is softer than I usually make, but I stuck to the reciep and am glad I did.

Opera

Reviewed: May 25, 2008
I was making this for a buffet, so instead of baking it in rectangular pans, I made it in loaf pans, and I make it with three layers instead of two. The loaf pan shape made it easier to slice in thin slices for a smaller size protion (this is a rich dessert and you do not need a large slice anyway) It was pretty easy to make and really worth it, every raved about it!

Seven Minute Frosting I

I remeber my mom making this when I was a kid, and it brought back fond memories. This is a great easy to make frosting for when you want something a bit different from buttercream frosting.

Very easy to make. I cut down the sugar to 2.5 cups and added .5 cup chocolate chips (the kids love chocolate chips). Great with homemade apple butter too!

Very easy to make and Very Delicious! This would be great with pecans or your favorite nut ground up. I just rolled them in 10X powdered sugar without the vanilla and they were still great!

Kugel

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2007
I found by placing the eggs, sugar, cream cheese, sour cream and cottage cheese in the blender and blending it all together, then pouring it on the cooked noodles and adding pineapple chunks, and topping with the buttter and crumbs, it came out very creamy and easier to make.

Simple Scones

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2007
Amazing and easy. For a twist, add the grated zest of a lemon and 1/2 cup blueberries (gently fold in when dough is done), 1/2 cup chocolate chips, 1/2 cup dried cranberries and 1/2 cups white chocolate chunks, the possibilities are endless. My Irish neighbors beg me to make them when they come down for weekends! I also make them into "Savory Cheddar Scones" by adding fresh chopped herbs from my garden (thyme, chives, basil...) and 1/2 cup cheddar cheese to replace the fruit. Save a bit of the sour cream and egg mix to brush on the top and srpinkle with freshly shredded parmesan cheese.

Homemade Refrigerator Pickles

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2007
this rescipe is very easy, we had planted pickling cucumbers this year, and the kids picked them and sliced them and we made these pickles. They are ready to eat the next day. I gave a jar to someone at work, who said her and her husband ate the whole jar at once.

The Ultimate Brownie

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2007
This recipe was very easy to follow and made a very good brownie. I turned it into cream cheese brownies by adding 8oz cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 egg, 1/4tst vanilla and 1/4 cup milk, blend until smooth, spoon into three even lines over the brownie mix, swirl the cream cheese into the batter and bake as directed.

I remember these from my days as a child growing up in Cananda (Toronto) and now that I am on the east coast no one has heard of them, but everyone sure loved them when I made them. The one with the peanut butter filling is really good too!

Plain Cake Doughnuts

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2006
Well, after reading some of the reviews, I can't seem to figure this out. I added a little extra cinnamon and nutmeg, and instead of making rolled donuts, a used a 1oz scoop and made "donut holes". They were light and flavorfull, and were enjoyed by all!
