My favorite things to cook
No favorites, I just like to try out new things every once in a while. Once I'm confident enough in my ability to make a recipe well, I add changes to it to suit my own tastes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every New Year, my mom used to bake waffles. Light waffles, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I can still remember the smell of waffles hanging inside the house. Now that both my parents passed on, I hope to continue this tradition for years to come.
My cooking triumphs
Any new recipe that ends up tasting amazing is a cooking triumph for me, although I'm proud of the "vitello tonato" I made for Christmas, which tasted just like in the restaurant.
My cooking tragedies
I love Asian food and often make nasi goreng. I've made it numerous times before, but last year I somehow managed to burn all the meat and vegetables inside the dish while I never left the stove. They were totally black and I could throw the dish away.
