Chef John's Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2014
Very good recipe. I added twice as many mushrooms, since my family loves them. I also used a nice quality dry Marasala which made a difference in the taste as well. Thanks Chef John!

Chef John's Italian Sausage Chili

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2014
To cut down on the prep time, I sautéed the peppers in EVOO until softened, then added a spoonful of minced garlic to the peppers and cooked for an additional minute or so, & finally added the veggies to the sausage mixture. I let it cook for 15 mins instead of 30. No salt needed. This dish is really amazing the next day. WOW! I was surprised to see Italian sausage instead of the traditional meat found in chili however this was a great mix of flavors and a hit at my house. Another winner by Chef John. I am becoming a huge fan of his recipes. Thanks much!!!!

Sangria! Sangria!

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2014
I followed previous suggestions and used spiced rum instead of brandy. This was the perfect cocktail for my deck party. I'm glad I discovered this drink in time! Thanks for sharing.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2014
I am also in the same boat as JCWGRIL where I'm looking to find ways to adopt more "freshness" into my diet so to speak. Excellent mix of spices. I too, will never purchase taco seasoning packets again. I am not sure what took me so long to discover this recipe but then again buying salty seasoning packets and cutting corners use to be the name of the game for me!

Hudson's Baked Tilapia with Dill Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2014
One of my favorites from this site is the Broiled Tilapia Parmesan; however I think I like this recipe a little better. I like a thicker piece of fish, so I used flounder and my family really enjoyed it and they didn't miss the cheese or butter that they usually except when I make the tilapia recipe mentioned above. Thanks for sharing.

The Best Potato Salad

Reviewed: May 26, 2014
I have struggled with homemade potato salad for years and I think the hunt for a good recipe is over!! This recipe had the perfect mix of ingredients that did not overpower the dish. My previous attempts either had too much mustard, mayo, or just too bland. I was apprehensive about adding pepperoncinis but I trusted previous reviewers and went for it. In the end, this ingredient set this dish apart from many others I have tried. I added additional olives because my family loves them. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!

Strawberry Romaine Salad I

Simple and tasty. This is the first time I have prepared a leafy green salad w/ strawberries for the family (I know.... sad huh?) and it was amazing. Everyone enjoyed it and I will make again!

Skillet Pork Chops with Potatoes and Onion

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2014
Easy & delicious. I used 2 cubes instead of 3 as suggested by others. I love to make smothered pork chops and this recipe is a much healthier alternative without compromising the flavor. I will definitely make again. Thanks chefjenwin.

Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo

Reviewed: May 13, 2013
This is a keeper. I prefer to use raw shrimp instead of cooked/frozen and this time was no exception. I also added mushrooms and doubled the cheese. Next time, I will either double the sauce or cook less pasta. Thanks for the recipe.

Easy Baked Tilapia

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2012
For white fish, I was always under the foolish impression that it was boring/bland & therefore needed a breaded topping, cream sauce, etc. Wow! I was dead wrong. This recipe was filling and flavorful. In addition, I added Cajun seasoning to give it a kick. Sometimes less is good and in this case, less is GREAT!

Spicy Bok Choy in Garlic Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2011
This was a hit! Since bok choy wilts upon cooking (like other leafy greens), I will purchase 2lbs next time & double the sauce. I used baby bok choy & my family of 3 was fighting over the veggies because 1lb wasn't enough. I omitted the oyster sauce since I didn't have it on hand. As others have stated, the sauce was awesome. Nice combination of flavors.

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2011
My family enjoyed this dish, although I must agree that the ketchup was a little overpowering. I will reduce the amount for the next time. I tripled the sauce, as suggested, since I added veggies. I also used raw shrimp instead. Low fat, great flavor! What more can you ask? I will definitely make again. Thanks FOODGU1.
