So I had a hard time determining how to rate this recipe bc it was delicious, however I had some issues with the construction. I attempted this recipe as written and although it was very tasty, when I make it again I will construct it differently. After following the video instructions and making the filling first I ended up with solidified Carmel sauce that could not be poured into the lattice pie crust without clumping on the top of the pie and not seeping into the pie. To remedy this I made an additional batch of the filling and before it had the chance to simmer I poured it into the pie in almost liquid form. The result was delicious but not pretty presentation wise. The next time I make this I will pour the filling over top the apples before making the lattice top crust and then glaze the top part with extra mixture as other reviewers have suggested. All in all this recipe is delicious and I can't wait to perfect my own version in the future! Thanks!
Update: I made the pie again, doubled the filling, and put the filling over the apples and then did the lattice crust and it turned out beautifully. Both delicious and perfect presentation-wise!! Will make this again and again thanks!
