Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: May 19, 2014
I was kind of disappointed with this recipe. I made it as stated and thought that the Parmesan cheese was overpowering in the sauce. I also thought that the butter made it a little too greasy and the sauce separated a little bit when broiling. It wasn't bad but i definitely think it is a little overrated. I did like the idea of broiling the tilapia which I had never tried before and I thought this method of cooking the fish was pretty good.

Guacamole

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2014
Perfect guacamole recipe!! I made it tonight to go with tacos and my husband (who is a bit of guacamole snob) couldn't get enough of it!! The key is to get nice ripe avocados. We ordered guacamole at our local Mexican place two weeks ago that was made table side and this was way better!! Thanks for a great recipe!!! This will definitely be my go-to for guacamole recipes from now on

Reuben Sandwich II

Really great!! I made as written and they came out perfectly!!! I cooked them on the pan and turned them over pretty frequently so they didn't burn and all the ingredients were warm and the cheese was melted perfectly.

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2014
Made this last night and it was one of the best dishes I have ever made. The only thing I did was add a little heavy whipping cream and a dash of flour to thicken the sauce before adding the chicken back in as other reviewers had suggested. I served the sauce and chicken over capellini pasta. Definitely a dish I will make again and again. Thanks for the awesome recipe!!

Amazing Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2014
This chicken was amazing!! The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because I added some seasonings. To the breadcrumbs I added some Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, ground mustard, and garlic powder. I am not a fan of mayo and I thought that it really made the chicken moist and added some excellent flavoring. I also used Panko breadcrumbs and thought they made the breading nice and extra crispy. Thanks for a great recipe, I will def make this again and again!!

Momma's Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2014
A lovely easy way to make potatoes. I had some leftover gold potatoes and needed a side dish so I tried this recipe. I followed the advice of reviewers and cut the potatoes in 1/8 s and added a little garlic powder for taste and cooked them at 375 for about 40 minutes and they came out perfectly. They definitely require a little extra cooking time then the recipe calls for but all in all this recipe really gave me a great starting point and was very easy to make. Thanks!!

Meatball Nirvana

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2014
Great recipe! I have made these several times as written and the meatballs were good but a little dry. I followed other reviewers suggestions and finally made them perfect tonight. I made using 1.5 lbs ground beef (1 lb 80/20 and half lb 85/15) I adjusted the seasoning accordingly except I used 1/3 cup skim milk and added 1 egg to the mixture. I cooked them for just under 20 minutes and they were amazing. I also made sure to use only a small white onion and diced it into super tiny pieces which I think was the key to the perfect texture!! Thanks for an amazing recipe

High Temperature Eye-of-Round Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2014
I followed the recipe to a T however my roast was slightly over-cooked and came out medium-medium well. The flavor was excellent and my husband did enjoy it, but I couldn't quite figure out why it was so over-cooked. I have a convection oven that does hold it's heat rather well but even though by the end of the time in the oven my oven was cold the roast was still more cooked inside than anticipated. I did doctor the marinade a little bit by brushing on my favorite Dijon mustard and gravy master marinade with a little bit of garlic powder and salt and pepper which gave the crust a lovely flavor, not sure if that affected the outcome at all but I doubt it. Next time I will cook it a little less at the 475 and hopefully it will be less overcooked. Thanks for a great start on a new recipe!

Ken's Perfect Hard Boiled Egg (And I Mean Perfect)

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2013
Great recipe/how-to for hard boil eggs. After reading all the reviews I had to try this method and I definitely made the easiest to peel eggs I have ever made and perfect for pretty deviled eggs. I usually only get half of my batch of eggs peeled well enough to make deviled eggs but this time all but one peeled perfectly! Thanks Ken

Paleo Omelet Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2013
Cute and yummy!! I made this using bacon, breakfast ham, and cheese based on my kids' omelet preferences. My only issue was that the omelette muffins stuck to my muffin liners a fair amount so next time I will either use better muffin liners or spray the liners with non-stick cooking spray. Thanks for a great recipe this is one of my new breakfast favorites!

Perfect!! I made it for my daughter and she LOVED it. I used a good loaf of challah bread as the video suggested and it was the best French toast we have ever had. Very easy to make and my daughter asked me to make it again the next day! Thanks for an amazing simple recipe!

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2013
So I had a hard time determining how to rate this recipe bc it was delicious, however I had some issues with the construction. I attempted this recipe as written and although it was very tasty, when I make it again I will construct it differently. After following the video instructions and making the filling first I ended up with solidified Carmel sauce that could not be poured into the lattice pie crust without clumping on the top of the pie and not seeping into the pie. To remedy this I made an additional batch of the filling and before it had the chance to simmer I poured it into the pie in almost liquid form. The result was delicious but not pretty presentation wise. The next time I make this I will pour the filling over top the apples before making the lattice top crust and then glaze the top part with extra mixture as other reviewers have suggested. All in all this recipe is delicious and I can't wait to perfect my own version in the future! Thanks! Update: I made the pie again, doubled the filling, and put the filling over the apples and then did the lattice crust and it turned out beautifully. Both delicious and perfect presentation-wise!! Will make this again and again thanks!

Made as is and was perfect!! The meat sauce was excellent and the finished product was impressive!! Thanks for a great recipe my husband was in shock that I made something this good from scratch!! Update: based on how good the lasagna was I have started using the meat sauce recipe as my go-to for spaghetti sauce and it was delicious. I made it tonight along with the meatball nirvana recipe from this site and served over thin spaghetti... Perfection!!

Karyn's Cream of Crab Soup

Unbelievable!!!! I made this as is and both my husband and I loved it!!! It tastes exactly like the cream of crab we order at our favorite MD seafood restaurant!!!!! I consider myself a connoisseur of cream of crab soup because we live in MD and I order it at every restaurant we go to pretty much. My husband couldn't believe I made it from scratch!!! Thank you Karyn for an amazing recipe and for making me look good in the kitchen tonight!! I can't wait to make this again!

Maryland Crab Cakes III

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2013
Great recipe! I made them tonight and my husband was really impressed bc this was my first time making crab cakes. I followed the reviews and did 1/2 cup mayo and 1 egg instead of 1 cup mayo. I also refrigerated the mixture for about 1//2 hour before making the crab cakes and they were super easy to mold and shape without falling apart. Next time I'm going to try and make them a little bigger, but this is a great and simple crab cake. We live in MD so we get a lot of good crab cakes at restaurants and both agreed that these were better then most restaurants serve! Thanks for a great recipe!

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2013
Awesome recipe! I made the recipe as-is minus the green peppers (bc my husband hates them) and it turned out perfectly. This recipe was very easy to follow and it was my first time making and eating sloppy joes so I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked them. My husband was very impressed that I made them from scratch and also described them tasting exactly the way a sloppy joe should taste. I will never buy the canned mix now bc this recipe is delicious and so easy. Thanks for a great recipe!!! This will be my go-to from now on!

Easy Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2013
I loved this recipe and the video was super helpful! I tweaked the recipe in accordance with some of the reviews. I added a can of green chilies to the filling, and I also used a can of enchilada sauce, 1/2 on the bottom of the pan and the other half on top of the enchiladas before I added the cheese. My husband is really into spicy food so next time I plan on adding some jalapeños to the filling instead of the chillies.
