excellent recipe. very easy and versitile. just the right combination of crisp and chewy. i've used different flavor chips, with and without the nuts and they've turned out every time. the recipe is so easy i was making them without referring back to the reipe card after my first attempt. definately a keeper. i have found that the softer the butter is, the flatter the cookie is. i prefer a softer thicker cookies, so i just barely soften the butter in the microwave. i also use a sugar subsitute blend and egg subsitute as well. these cookies are perfect every time. in fact, i'm now required to make two double batches for the monthly managers' meeting at work, if not, there's 12 extremely unhappy men and women.
