Orange Glorious I

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2014
This drink was pretty good, however too overpowering with orange concentrate. I may cut to half the amount next time and see. I will be making many more times after I adjust it some.

Blueberry Smoothie

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2014
I wasn't wild about the yogurt in this, but adding some spice was a good idea. However, cinnamon was the spice of choice for us.

All-Fruit Smoothies

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2014
This was good, but I think next time I'll leave the strawberries out and replace them with more blueberries. The banana was a very nice addition and added needed sweetness.

Hala Kahiki Green Smoothie

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2014
Very different tasting to me. Some in my family really liked it and some not as much.

Green Slime Smoothie

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2014
Not an appetizing color for a smoothie, flavor was o.k. though. I'm sure adding more spinach and less strawberries would improve the color, but would change the taste considerably. I also had to thin. Not my favorite sorry.

Green Monster Smoothie

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2014
I tasted banana and peanut butter the most. If you want spinach masked then this is the drink for you.

Green Power Mojito Smoothie

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2014
Didn't have any mint and used orange juice instead of the orange. I will make again, great way to get plenty of vitamins. Pretty color too. I've made other green smoothies on here, but this was my favorite. Will be interesting to use mint next time.

Tropical Sunshine Smoothie

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2014
I'm sorry I didn't have the mango to put in this, as I'm sure that would have been delicious too. Will try that next time. I also skipped the mint, but may try it sometime out of curiosity. Added some flake coconut for a pretty garnish. This certainly tasted fruity tropical and different. I added a little sweetener as submitter suggested.

Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2014
Love the idea of getting oatmeal into a drink, but I feel there was too much in this recipe for me. Also I will decrease the amount of strawberries next time. Freezing the berries somewhat helps make a thicker drink. I ground the oatmeal as fine as I could get it in a food processor. I found while photographing it, the oatmeal softened making a better texture. Now I will always have some prepared oatmeal made-up when I need an on-the-go breakfast. Lots of variations to play around with here.

Rock's T-Bone Steaks

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2014
This is a recipe to make your own way... glad I only put in half the salt. I subbed cumin for turmeric because I didn't have any. I used my judgement as to how much of the rub I wanted to put on the meat. Even though the salt level in this had to be adjusted so much, I won't give this any less than 5 stars. This will be a repeated blend in our house. I'm sure hamburgers would benefit with it sprinkled on as well.

Original Homemade Italian Beef

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2014
Excellent idea to add Italian seasoning to this dish. However, I only used about 1 packet and that was plenty. I also drained my peppers when adding. This made popular and easy "football fare."

Steamed Cranberry Pudding

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2013
I'm so pleased to have found this recipe. First, I'd like to say I've never made a steamed pudding of any kind before and was looking forward to trying something like this. I have imagined a bite of the pudding in "Scrooge" that sounds so delectable to the anticipation of the "Cratchit family" in story. I followed this recipe precisely...even down to the whole cranberries and am I ever glad I did. Perfect, but you must have the warm sauce to pour over. This may appeal to perhaps a more grown-up palate, but maybe not though. * Warning this is very rich and I can see why people make it for the holidays (only) as a special treat.

Joe Froggers

Added 3/4 cup molasses as suggested which made it a perfect dough; would have been too sticky otherwise. Added about 1 teas cinnamon as well. Good flavor.

Jesse's Ginger Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2013
I had high hopes for this dressing because the ingredients intrigued me. However, the flavor of it just wasn't to my liking. Tried to pull it out with adding something, but still nothing helped. Sorry won't make again.

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2013
Good soup base, I cooked a veggie mix ahead of time and then added in. This would remedy the problem of too thin a soup. Lastly, I used cream as well.

Creamy Italian Dressing II

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2013
Needs some thinning, but I think much easier to use store-bought Italian dressing in mayo instead with a touch of Worcestershire.

I'm giving this five stars although I didn't have any hoisin sauce and subbed some curry powder. Will use the hoisin next time. Was good eats.

Sweet and Sour Chicken Tenders

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2013
Loved this easy sauce. I reduced the vinegar to 1/4 cup because I wanted to add some fresh pineapple. I didn't bake the tenders just cooked on the stove top and then topped later with the sauce. Will make again especially the quick sauce.

Cool Chicken 'n' Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2013
I too used my own baked chicken. Good combo of ingredients and very pretty. Added some carrot as well. I only had bow-tie pasta, but that worked beautifully.
