Pork Roast with Sauerkraut and Kielbasa

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2011
My husband loved this dish, however, 6 hours on high is definitely too long. I cooked it 6 hours on low, and the kielbasa was still just mush, as others here have reported. Remember, smoked sausage, kielbasa, etc. is already "fully cooked" anyway, especially the commercial packaged. Next time I will quickly sauté kielbasa and add in the end of the cooking time. I did add onion, diced granny smith apples and a little brown sugar. We are a family of 4 and 4 lbs. of sauerkraut was just too much. I just used 2 cans of sauerkraut. I will make this again, but only cook maybe 4 hours on low. Enjoy!!

Halloween Eye of Newt

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2010
Per suggestion of others, I also used blue food coloring instead of green. I did mix mayonnaise and red food coloring for the creepy veins that worked great. I held out a little of the yellow egg mixture for a little dot inside the olive, spicy mustard would work as well. These are very fun to make. I am sure they will go over well tonight for our Halloween party. I made an "Eyes of Newt" place card, to add a festive flair.

Old-Fashioned Cheese Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2008
These were really good! Everyone loved them. I cut yukon gold potatoes on a mandolin so the were uniformly thin. I lightly sauteed onions and one clove of garlic in a little butter and added that to the flour rue. Like others, I couldn't find shredded American, so I cubed Velveta that melted fine cubed. Also, sprinkled sharp shreds in the potatoes and then layered cheese sauce and potatoes. Again they were probably the best cheese potatoes I have ever had! Enjoy!

Adrienne's Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2004
This was great....It reminds me of a salad as a child called Thunder and Lightning!....In that salad there were cubes of tomatoes....So that is what I added.... Tomatoes, less dill, fresh ground pepper and a dash of salt!!..Pretty presentation, also!
