Hot Mustard Pretzel Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2009
YUM! We love spicy so this was definitely our kind of dip. We actually made it as a dip for our home-made chicken nuggets (link to follow) and it was so good (the kids stuck to ketchup & ranch). It was soooooooooo good! We didn't let the mustard and vinegar sit more than 15 minutes and it still turned out fabulous.

Tender Chicken Nuggets

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2009
These truly turned out great and we ate them all up! I did use more parmesan than the recipe called for just because I realized I'd gotten carried away with my grating and threw it all in. The only other change was I didn't have seasoned bread crumbs so I had to season them up on my own. We served it with ketchup and ranch dressing but I also made the following recipe of Hot Mustard Pretzel Dip... spicy and delicious!

Strawberry/Rhubarb Crumb Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2009
This was really a wonderful pie that my family just loved. The first time I made it it turned out perfectly (although I turned off the oven when it was done and forgot about it for about 15 minutes)! The second time I made it I took it out when I thought it was done and it was runny... so just a tip to maybe let it cook longer than you think it needs to be.

Fresh Spring Rolls With Thai Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2009
This recipe was EXACTLY what I was hoping to find. I will be making this time and time again (next time I'll let the kids help)! We served it with the easy sauce listed and also a peanut sauce that someone else listed in their review. I'll repeat it here so others don't have to go searching: 2T Hoisin 2T Peanut Butter 1T Soy Sauce Stir together and slowly drizzle in water until smooth

Green Risotto with Fava Beans

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2008
I was on the search for a fava bean recipe as we are part of a farm co-op and had some to use. This was wonderful... even my 2 year old ate it up! We didn't have enough fava beans so we ended up blending them all but it turned out perfectly. Yum!

Rhubarb Sour Cream Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2008
We joined a farm produce co-op for the summer and I was searching for an easy rhubarb recipe. This was the first one I tried and after tasting this my husband told me my search is over. This is just as delicious warm with vanilla ice cream as it is cold. Delicious as written.

Our family loved this soup and the neighbors I made it for requested the recipe. We will definitely make this one again!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2008
Too bland as stew recipes go. It tasted more like pot roast than stew.

Bacon and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2008
I made the recipe as written but doubled it. My husband and I both really liked it. I was surprised at how flavorful it was for not having much in terms of spices. The 1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper went a long way and provided the perfect amount of heat for us. I will certainly make this one again!

Peanut Butter Bars V

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2006
This was pretty good. It could be that for recipes like this, it's expected that people use sugary peanut butter like skippy or jiffy. We use Adams so these bars just weren't sweet enough. I increased the chocolate chips to 1 full cup and I'm glad I did. If I make them again, I'll have to purchase some sugary peanut butter next time.

Seven Layer Tex Mex Dip

This recipe has been in our family favorites for as long as I can remember as well. There are just a few differences in our version. Increase Mayonaise to 1/2 cup (we use Best Foods) Add shredded lettuce after the avacado Increase Tomatoes to 3 medium Add a bunch of diced green onions Decrease Cheese to 8 oz. Slice the olives

Hearty Beef Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2005
I made this on the stove top so I had to change it up a bit, but it's the best beef stew I've ever made. I melted a stick of butter and slowly wisked in 1/2 cup of flour & paprika until it was pasty. I added a little beef broth as needed. Then I browned the meat until it was nearly done. From there I followed the recipe as written and left it to simmer on the stove for a couple of hours.

Banana Chocolate Chip Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2005
Very good. I made it in a square pan and it didn't change the baking time at all. It does seem more like bars than cake. This is a great simple recipe.

Honey Glazed Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2004
I don't usually cook with Pork but this was pretty good. The honey sauce was delicious, but the Pork turned out drier than I would have liked it. I'm figuring this was my fault due to inexperience.

This is a potluck favorite for family gatherings. I substitute dried cranberries for the raisins.
