London Broil I

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
Very yummy, I usually just pop in the oven for ~20 minutes at 350 instead of putting it on the grill.

Eggnog Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2007
I substituted eggnog for milk and vanilla for rum flavoring. I also watched times carefully and took it out early. It was still dry and bland and did not taste like eggnog. It was okay dipped in my eggnog chai latte, but not on its own.

Grandma's Butterscotch Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2004
This recipe was very easy to make, with ingredients that I already had. I accidentally left out the vanilla and butter, and it was still ridiculously good. The only change I made was to put meringue on it instead of whipped cream. No kidding, my eyes closed involuntarily after the first bite, it was so good.

Dulcia Domestica

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2007
A little unusual at first, but very addictive. In the future, I'll just stir in the pine nuts. Stuffing the dates is what takes up all of your time.

Vinegar Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2010
Something is not right in the proportions of this recipe. There was far too much liquid for the amount of dough. The liquid stayed thin even after cooking till the max time and the dough had browned. Refrigeration did not help it set up. Finally, although I love vinegar, this cobbler reeked of it. I managed to get a piece down. Very disappointing.

Malaysian Quinoa (Vegetarian)

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2007
I found this to be very dry (even after adding a good bit more water), and the cooking time seems off. The flavors didn't do it for me, and I love Southeast Asian food.

Bertha's Blueberry Dumplings

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2006
While this was very easy and good, I think I would use a different dumpling dough next time--this one was a bit too dense and doughy for me. I used vegetable shortening instead of lard, for the record.

Florentine Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2007
Very good. I've done it with neufchatel instead of cream cheese, to cut down on fat, and the taste is still good. I've also used it as a side dish instead of a dip. Guests love it.

Buttermilk Pancakes II

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2004
I used fresh buttermilk from a local farm, and these were still a mess. By the time the middle was cooked, the outside was black. I finally had to water it down with some milk, and then they were better, but still not spectacular.
