I just made three loaves of this recipe and it is absolutely delicious. I did make some alteration based on what I had. I used all white whole wheat flour instead of all purpose. I've read in several places to do half and half if you want to use whole wheat flour, but I've been using only whole wheat for over a year now, and I have yet to encounter a problem in any of the recipes I've made. I used half butter and half applesauce in the first two loaves and all applesauce in the last loaf. I also added about 1 tsp of cinnamon, 1 tsp of vanilla extract, and 1/2 tsp of nutmeg for some added flavor. Mine needed to cook for the full 65 minutes, which shocked me because my oven usually cooks things a lot faster than the recipe allows. Overall it was a fantastic recipe and I will definitely make it many times again.
