Asparagus Parmesan

Reviewed: May 26, 2010
Absolutely loved it! I cooked the asparagus on the stove with olive oil and butter. Drained on paper towels. Added a pinch of kosher salt (I prefer the texture) and used a microplaner to shave the parmesean, to my taste. The microplaner makes such a fine shaving of parmesean, it melts upon touching the asparagus. I can't wait until I make it again.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2010
This recipe received an "excellent" from my husband! It has taken 15 years and many, many lasagna recipes before he gave this recipe his seal of approval!!! I followed other reviews and made this the day before I cooked it. It really didn't take long to prepare. As the sauce (thick and hearty) simmered, I did other things. I soaked the noodles and assembled. I credit some of the success of this dish with the ingredients. I went to Whole Foods for the sausage (they make their own), hamburger, ricotta (Calabro) and fresh mozarella. I used 1/2 the sugar since the sausage and tomatoes (used organic fire roasted) were sweet enough. I can't wait until we have company and I can make it again. I just wish my children would eat it. My vegetarian daughter won't because it has meat and my carnivore son won't because it has cheese :-)

If I could, I would give this recipe more than five stars. I have been making these pancakes for almost six years now and they are always fabulous. My family requests them several times a week!

French Dip Sandwiches

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2004
Very easy and delicious; great for relaxed entertaining. I cut the soy sauce in half, use beef broth instead of the cube, and cut back on the rosemary (not our favorite). Since I procrastinate for dinner, I usually cook on high for 5-6 hours and it still turns out terrific.

Southern Candied Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2004
Excellent side dish. My whole family loved them. Didn't have nutmeg so used allspice instead. If you like soft potatoes like us, slice thin.

Fast, easy and delicious. The first time I used frozen chicken tenderloins; no need to defrost! The second time I used shrimp - will be good recipe for company.
