This recipe received an "excellent" from my husband! It has taken 15 years and many, many lasagna recipes before he gave this recipe his seal of approval!!! I followed other reviews and made this the day before I cooked it. It really didn't take long to prepare. As the sauce (thick and hearty) simmered, I did other things. I soaked the noodles and assembled. I credit some of the success of this dish with the ingredients. I went to Whole Foods for the sausage (they make their own), hamburger, ricotta (Calabro) and fresh mozarella. I used 1/2 the sugar since the sausage and tomatoes (used organic fire roasted) were sweet enough. I can't wait until we have company and I can make it again. I just wish my children would eat it. My vegetarian daughter won't because it has meat and my carnivore son won't because it has cheese :-)
