About this Cook
I'm a 17 year old food fanatic and ever since I was a little kid I have loved to cook. I'm in the kitchen every chance I get, and I love the feeling you get when you are able to make good food for your friends and family. I would love to become a chef, and one day I would like to open my own cafe. I'd be a very lucky person if I could do what I love as a job.
My favorite things to cook
I have the biggest sweet tooth, so naturally i love to make cakes, cookies and desserts. This tends to be a problem for my waste-line, so I also make a habit of cooking healthy alternatives to my favourite treats. I also love indian and italian food, and when I cook for my family, it is usually a good curry or a yummy pasta dish.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every christmas I make a dessert - each year a different thing - and I just love trying out new recipes and spending a whole week in the kitchen cooking different things for our family dinner.
My cooking triumphs
The first time a made a curry, I was really nervous because I didn't want to stuff it up. I thought it would either be too spicy or not spicy enough or would just be a complete disaster, but in the end it turned out great and even my brother liked it (and that's saying something!)
My cooking tragedies
One christmas my cousin and i decided to make mini christmas pudding, yet when we got together she forgot the recipe. She ensured me that she remembered it and we went ahead and made it anyway. Later that evening she found the recipe and was shocked to find that we needed two tablespoons of brandy - we had put two CUPS in! Surprisingly our family loved them anyway and they all dissapeared in a flash. Now I make them every year, though I will never trust my cousin again.

Beef and Parmesan Pasta
This went down very well with my family. It reminded me a little of a risotto. I used spiral pasta, and added some fresh basil, parsley, thyme and oregano as well as some salt and pepper. I also didn't use the zucchini, because i am not really a fan. I loved how quick and easy this recipe was, i'll definitely make it again.

4H Banana Bread
This was really, really yummy, but the final verdict was that it is more of a cake than a bread. All the same, it dissapeared in less than a day! I used more bananas (3, rather than 1 cup worth) and topped it off with some brown sugar and cinamon. Thanks for a great recipe.

Welfare Cake
Very, very yummy! The flavour was perfect for a chocolate cake. Not too rich but in no way bland. I did expect it to be a little more moist, but I don't think that made it any worse. I also glazed it with strawberry jam to give it a little something extra.
