Corn Dogs

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2008
These are good. They are really good if you put honey in the batter!

Napa Cabbage Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2008
Next time I'll add the seasoning packet instead of soy sauce. I personally did not like this, but gave it a 5 star since both my daughter and husband loved it!

Pat's Simple Penne

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
This had a good flavor and was super simple...very good for busy weeknights. For that I give it a 4 star! I took it a little further though by jazzing it up a little (aka... made it totally unhealthy/fattening but really tasty - eat in moderation!) by giving it a pinch or two of garlic powder, draining the juices and adding them to cream of chicken soup, a little milk, ground black pepper, adding it back to the penne in a casserole dish, put a mild, white grated cheese on top with a little bit of grated sharp cheddar to give it color... baked it until melted and bubbly. Yum. That made it a FIVE star.

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2005
I love the convenience of this ~ and the meat was nice and tender. I used one can of low sodium cream of chicken soup and one can of regular cream of chicken and mushroom because that is all I had. It was pretty salty, but tolerable. I served it with hot bread, mashed potatoes, and mixed vegetables. I don't know if I'll fix it again or not... only one kid out of three liked it. I liked it but husband hated it. He's so picky though ~ he doesn't count!! :-)

Spaghetti Carbonara II

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2005
This is excellent... but I did make a few changes. I used 1/4 cup sour cream instead of wine... no onion ~ 2 eggs instead of 4, (I use half a box of spaghetti). I also reserved 1/2 cup of the pasta water, whisked cheese, sour cream, salt, eggs and garlic - then added the pasta water to that and poured it over the pasta... cooked on low heat until thickened... added pepper...... YUM. You can also use low sodium ham ~ but greasy, bad for you bacon tastes way better!! :-)

Mushroom Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2005
I was a little disappointed in this... the flavor was good, however my pork came out a little tough. I think maybe thicker, very high quality chops are needed. I used boneless butterfly chops. My little boy loved it and ate several pieces, my daughter liked it and my husband hated it. Oh well! :-) I may try this again if I can ever find some good chops.

Southern Fried Cabbage

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2005
This was really good... easy, fast and very tasty. I didn't use the full amount of oil and it was still pretty greasy though. I will cut back on the oil even more and I will fix this again! :-)
