I'm the youngest out of the bunch and had my share of helping at dinner time. So now that I'm all grown up and experimented more than enough, I have come to terms that I enjoy most of my time in the kitchen cooking & baking. There are 3 generations of bakers in my family and it rubbed off on me too so when I start baking, look out cause I don't stop just at 2 desserts. Mind you, my husband and family like it. I told my husband that I need a bigger kitchen (hehehe).
My favorite things to cook
I am more into baking than cooking so I would say my most favorite thing to make is my FAMOUS RUMBALLS and to bake is pies & cakes (pretty much anything & everything). I'd like to get into a catering business and put my talents to work also.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite family cooking traditions is my enchilada's at Thanksgiving, my sweet potatoes at Christmas. We would gather in the kitchen to do their part in preparing the big meal. As we do this, we sample each others dishes and by the time it's ready to sit down we don't want to eat anything.
My cooking triumphs
My cooking triumph was when I finally mastered making my gravies. Another triumph is when I realized that my cooking was actually enjoyable. LOL
My cooking tragedies
My cooking tragedies was the first time I made homemade gravy, it was too funny. Another tragedy was making an apple crumble pie that I failed at terribly, even the oven was a total mess.

Gobble Up Granola Snacks
I'm giving this recipe a 5 star, not that I followed it completely but it was very good with the changes I did and thats only because I made this recipe with my cooking class of 10 small children at March Break Camp and its a peanut free environment. So with that in mind I couldn't use the peanut butter so I use MOLASSAS (same measurements). The kids also wanted to add chocolate chips and mini marshmellows so because the mixture was sticky enough, we just added them on top then pressed down on all of it in the pan...worked out great! OMG...THE LITTLE MUNCHKINS LOVED THEM! Next time I'll make them at home using the peanut butter.

Garden Fresh Tomato Soup
I'm giving this recipe a 5 star rating as it sounds great. I'm quite surprised by reading many other reviews by modifying the recipe but did come across one review where it basically said there was and is no need to change it up and this recipe has a purpose of having it the way it is. I will make this recipe tomorrow morning and will rate it once tasted. Thanks for this recipe Charlotte! UPDATE: GOOD SUNDAY MORNING...I JUST FINISHED MAKING THIS RECIPE AND FOLLOWED IT EXACTLY. THE AROMA REMINDED ME OF CAMPBELLS TOMATO SOUP. WHEN ALL WAS DONE, I HAD TO TASTE IT AND "WOW"!!! VERY GOOD. IF I COULD, I WOULD NOW GIVE THIS RECIPE A 10 STAR RATING. I WILL MAKE THIS RECIPE AGAIN AND AGAIN...I HAVE A GARDEN FULL OF TOMATOES SO NOW I KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THE EXTRA AND WILL FREEZE THE SOUP FOR THE WINTER MONTHS TO COME. THANKS AGAIN CHARLOTTE!!!

Apple Dip
this was very good and quick. a little trick to keep the apple slices from going brown is dipping them in a bowl of sprite pop. the lemon/lime in the pop keeps them from spoiling rather than using lemon juice which can leave a little bitter taste. the sprite works great on banana slices as well. I use this trick at camp and it works wonders!
