Peanut Butter Temptations II

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2008
I'm making this for the holidays! I used a cookie scoop and made 24 of these and ate (gasp) 9 in 2 days. YIKES. Better send these out before I finish the whole batch!

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2008
I used 2 cups white sugar and 1 cup brown sugar as others suggested but followed everything else. Baked for almost 40 minutes. They came out fudgy just the way I wanted! Might try with less white sugar next time. Note the quality of choco chips you mix in matters, so does the quality of cocoa. I topped a batch with some cheesecake batter I got from another recipe for cheesecake brownies and they were perfect. Yummy!

Felix K.'s 'Don't even try to say these aren't the best you've ever eaten, because they are' Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2008
This is exactly the recipe I was looking for! The cookies came out chewy, with a crispy outer edge - perfection! Just like another reviewer said, they're like Subway cookies. I like my cookies chewy, and the crispy outer edge is enough so that it doesn't fall apart and doesn't appear underbaked. It is a large cookie - about 1/4 cup dough for each. Notes: The recipe didn't say if brown sugar was to be tightly packed or lightly packed; I made mine tightly packed. I didn't grease the baking sheet since the recipe didn't call for it, not a problem at all... it actually came out a bit greasy. I left the cookies on the baking sheet for 10 minutes after taking them out of the oven (15 mins baking time), then put them on paper towels to absorb some of the grease. I can understand how the title can put some people off. It uses a lot of ingredients and I was a bit afraid to make the full recipe but went for it anyway. I'm more than happy I did!!! SINFULLY YUMMY!

Beef Paprika

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2007
The first time i made this i didn't have paprika, so i added about 1/4 tsp of ground black pepper, and 1 1/2 tbsp of black pepper sauce. I left it to simmer, and the heat must have been too high so the sauce dried up a bit and the onions caramelized... I thought I burned the dish but I managed to rescue it with 1/4 cup of water, and it turned out really delicious - because the onions had caramelized the sauce had turned almost into a puree and looks very similar to the photo posted. The second time I cooked it, I used paprika (and added 1/2 tbsp of black pepper sauce which i love), and turned out wonderful! SERVING SUGGESTION: I serve this over a plate of pasta, topped with egg (sunny side up). Yummmy.

Korean BBQ Beef (Pul-Kogi)

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2007
I love this recipe! It makes me feel like a pro making this. The results are so impressive. The first time I made these I didn't have rice wine or sesame seeds and I decided I was ok with that. I used white wine instead, but after my first attempt I bought rice wine to get a more authentic asian flavour (and was surprised coz rice wine wasn't so expensive). Also as the pears I use are quite small I use the whole thing. Tips: 1. beef thinly sliced cooks quite fast, esp in soy sauce, so I cook the beef then leave the onions in the pan with the sauce to let them caramelize, then i return the beef to the pan and heat a minute before serving. 2. These are also great for bachelors and bachelorettes who live alone - i cooked a few slices from the bag one night and cooked a few more the next. 3. I like to use more sesame oil.

Roasted Chicken with Risotto and Caramelized Onions

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2007
Delicious! I loved this! It was so worth it. I was amazed that it tasted so good and all i had to do was chop onions and some chicken (I was tempted to add more ingredients but I was glad I didn't). So easy to make! Based on another reviewers' suggestion i reduced the amount of balsamic vinegar. I also did not put in the full amount of broth because it did not absorb well.
