Chicken Spaghetti Casserole I

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
I saw lots of reviews saying they didn't like the "olives", but this recipe does not call for olives. I grew up on this, my kids are growing up on it too. Love it! I do think it turns out creamier with velveeta, but a nice change when I am out.

Blueberry Gelatin Salad

This is my favorite dessert of the holidays!!! My mom has made it forever...We put chopped pecans in ours and use black cherry jello instead...I could eat an entire pan by myself!

Grilled Marinated Shrimp

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2008
I made this for my Mom's birthday. They loved it and agreed with other reviewers that it needed no sauce. I used fresh oregano and may have used a little much, which is why I rated it 4 stars. I thought it was good, just not the "melt in your mouth" quality that I save for five stars. I served it with grilled squash/zuccini, salad and black bean/corn relish. I really thought it worked perfectly with those. Tomorrow I am using the left overs to mix with homeade pico and avacado for a shrimp salad. I think it will be great! Thanks for a great recipe!

Creamy Rice Pudding

YUMMY!!! I have a bushel of peaches that I have been making jellies and desserts with all week. I mixed those in instead of raisins. This is pure Heaven!!!

Vanilla Ice Cream VII

Reviewed: May 12, 2008
I gave this a 4 because I think I like the uncooked icecream better, it has the grainy/icy texture I remember as a kid and relate with "homeade". This was really good...tasted very creamy. I did cut the eggs to 7. My family loved it! This is probably the best cooked recipe if you like that kind.

Kabob Marinade

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2005
WOW!!!! This is the best marinade I have ever come across! My husband loved it; even my pickiest son loved it! I did only use 1/2 cup soy and the juice of 2 lemons. I can't say enough about this delicious marinade!

Ann's Neptune's Delight

Reviewed: May 10, 2005
I fixed this for Mother's Day along with a chicken dish from this site. It turned out okay. I was expecting something a little thicker. Maybe more cheese would have done the trick. I wasn't crazy about it, but my husband and dad loved it.

Caribbean Coconut Chicken

Reviewed: May 10, 2005
I fixed this for Mother's Day and was very dissapointed. It was extremely watery and the onions completely overpowered the coconut milk. I did let the chicken set in coconut milk for about 8hrs, but it still had little flavor. I will not be making this again. I only rated it 3 because my brother, who never goes back for seconds, got an extra helping, but he was the only one.

Empty Wallet Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2005
My husband actually said he would rate this 1 1/2 stars, but I was a bit more forgiving. There is way too much poultry seasoning. I think I would cut it in half. I love the basic idea of the recipe though. Next time I will probably add soem parmesan cheese in the middle and instead of saltine crackers, I will use ritz. But the cooking time was excellent and I personally thought the overall taste wasn't too bad.

Cranberry Orange Breakfast Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2005
didn't really care too much for it. Very dry and had too much "spice" taste for my family. I did use the leftover to make bread pudding and it turned out very good.

These are so easy and versatile. I have made them with the b-b-q sauce and with taco seasoning. The are a pleaser for the whole family!

Real Italian Calzones

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2005
The bread was great, but I wasn't as impressed with the filling. Maybe I don't know what "real" calzones are like, but I didn't care for the ricotta cheese in the filling. It gave it almost a scrambled egg like texture. I will use the recipe again only omitting the ricotta and adding more shredded cheese.

Bierock Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2005
My husband grew up with this only they were folded more like calzones. After searching for 7 years for something like his grandmother's, I think I found a winner. He loved it! I am not a fan of sauerkraut, but it wasn't bad. Will be making again.

Dale's Swedish Meatballs

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2004
This was okay. The flavor was really good, but the meatballs were a little mushy. I think next time I will bake the meatballs in the oven, then add them to the sauce.

Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2004
This was very good, although my kids didn't particularly care for it. I happen to love bread pudding. I made it with left over Hawaiian bread and some country white bread I had made that week. I thought it was excellent.

Chicken Milano

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2004
I forgot to rate this when I made it, and it definitely deserves the best reviews ever! Way more than 5 stars! I made it for my mom's birthday dinner, and everyone, from the 1 year old to the 50 year old, loved it. It has the best flavors and is by far the best chicken recipe that I have ever had or made. Better than any pasta in the finest restaurant! Thank you so much for the recipe!

No Beans About It - Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2004
Maybe there is a difference in Texas Chili and others, but I just didn't care for this. It was sweet and didn't have that hearty flavor that I look for in chili. And as far as mixing it with rice, chili should be able to stand alone and be great.

Buttermilk Pie III

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2004
yum, yum, yum, yum, yum!!! This was so easy and turned out amazing! I forgot to put the nutmeg on top, but it still tastes wonderful. I also used a deep dish pie crust which I think you'd have to use to hold it all. Thank you so much for the recipe!

Tunnel of Fudge Cake IV

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2004
Well, I should have known better than to deviate from my mom's recipe, but I thought I would give this one a try. Who knows, maybe I did something wrong, but this cake did not turn out like I thought it should. There was a tunnel of fudge, but the cake fell considerably when cooling and was very splotchy looking. So the appearance was a negative to me. Also, the cakey part just wasn't as sweet as I thought it should be. I know the glaze adds sweetness, but it could have been better. I probably won't try this recipe again.
