I'm a stay-at-home, homeschooling mama of a sweet little boy born in 2002 and a princess born in 2006. I LOVE to cook, a passion that I inherited from my late father. I love trying new recipes. I absolutely love to cook a huge, delicious meal for family get-togethers, and I love to host holiday parties and dinners!
My favorite things to cook
Mexican dishes, Italian dishes, comfort foods, cakes, candies, desserts, anything related to a huge Holiday meal!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My dad was the cook of the family. He always prepared big, delicious meals on the weekends. He did the Holiday meals as well. Every Christmas Eve, he would make tons of yummy snack-type foods, and we'd all stay up eating, playing games, and waiting to open our gifts on Christmas morning. Now that he is gone, I have taken over his role, and I carry on that tradition with my family.
My cooking triumphs
Taking over the cooking of the Holiday meals and birthday meals, get-togethers, cookouts, etc., since my dad passed away.
My cooking tragedies
One of my first Thanksgivings being married(I got married in '99, at the age of 20), I made a beautiful chocolate chip cheesecake to take to my parent's house. Everyone commented on how delicious it looked. When it came time for dessert, I was so excited for everyone to try my pie. However, when I cut into it, the entire middle was completely raw! It was SOUP. I was heartbroken. To make me feel better, my sweet husband cut around the runny part, and everyone ate the outside portion of the cheesecake!
